6 gears on Evo X GSR??

Haha, no I don' t mean there is a GSR with 6 speed transmission.Â* However I feel like my car needs to have a 6 gear.Â* The car feels like it runs out of room on 5th but still has alot to go....Â* Do you guys experience that??Â* I could be in 4th and going around 80mph and it is "almost" (not literally) redline already.....HMmmmmm...

Could this be because I was so used to my EVO IX MR???

I totaly agree with you, it needs another gear. I came from a Mini Cooper and I am constantly trying to go into 6th! I mostly notice it cruising down the highway.

I think its more that Im just used to having 6th for cruising down the highway. So, I dont think it needs it, it would just be nice if it was there. I think it would improve the mileage.

its a close ratio 5 speed.... ur cruising RPM's are gonna be sacrificed.... it's just how it goes w/ the 5spds

not to mention, if its anything like the Evo 8's and 9's, even with a 6 speed the milage was slightly worse on the MR's than it was with the GSR and RS...

Actually I had a GSR EVO VIII and I didn't feel it needed a 6th gear....But for some reason the X just feels like it is running out of gears...

who said i was crying about saving gas mileage?Â* who needs to floor their car all the time?Â* Personally, I don't drive fast at all, I go 65 - 70 on the fwy, and i don't gun the car from red light to red light.Â* Although, spirited driving every once in awhile is damn fun.Â* The thread is about how the car needs a 6th gear.Â* I'm providing my input on how I don't notice, because I short shift (who needs to rev their car constantly up in to the 4-5k range?) and on the fwy at 65-70 you are running just over 3k rpms.Â* In all reality, the gas mileage doesn't really matter much to me, I would have the car anyways.Â* I am not one of those idiots that bought a car I can't afford to replace the tires on.Â* My financial situation is sound, and fortunately so is my job.Â* So whether the car got 12mpg or 25, does it matter?Â* To me, not much.
