Heard rumors about it being debuted at SEMA a few months ago.

We installed a fancy foo-foo snakey twin wastegate turbo kit on an X a couple weeks ago and it was miserable to install, will be impossible to service and basically catch everything on fire.

This Garrett turbo is what you want. But you will need more fuel first to use it.

damnnn thats crazy. X is looking better and better every day. Can't wait to see this turbo with some 1000 cc injectors, tbe, mbc, and an intake.

Btw Mike wouldn't you need to do some porting to the oem manifold/02 housing to get the most out of this thing?

this should be a good product! The Xs are looking very promising!!!

Some porting on the manifold would run about $80 and would get you your money's worth. Not _necessary_, but not a bad isead if it is in th ebudget.

any update on this?

Something about it being in "blast containment testing" Something where they overspin the living crap out of it and when it all blows up spectacularly they make sure all the pieces stay inside the turbo. Garrett is nutty like that.

Sounds close to being released. Dont have a date.

Anyone have updates on this kit?

I guess they had some problems with the wastegate flapper so they changed the design a little.

Not to nag, but this is a year old thread.

But yes, it had a problem with the flapper falling off by spinning too much and then going into the exhaust. They remedied it by basically putting a stopper to keep it from spinning ALL the way around, but nothing to keep it from spinning back and forth. In my eyes, the only way I see this being reliable at all is by removing the flapper and going with the ATP DP w/ external WG provision.

Why would anyone nag? Nice update to an old thread. But there has been an additional design update beyond what has been mentioned in that link and these are still not in production. Should be by the end of the month.

Was the problem and semi solution not common knowledge?

The solution was what was written in the link and then also one more materials change after that.
