this has been going on for about 2 to 3 months now.. but everytime when i park my car for about 5 to 6 hours or in the morning my car after the first minute its being warm up it makes a clicking and a ticing noise and it sound strange. i own a 2006 evo and i havent done any mods beside down pipe and test pipe.. i was thinkin of taking it down to South Coast to check out the noise.. if i were to let you members hear it you would tell me to go get it check out. and even when im stop at a light the noise gets louder.. clicking an ticing.. do your evo sound like that? my car has 41000 miles on it. i already gave a 30k service to it but i still dont know whats wrong with it. please help me fix and resolve my baby.. Thanks. Jack

yea,but sometimes dealerships will fill your motor with too much oil.warm your motor up and check the dipstick.the level should be in between the 2 lines.

anyone have an answer to this yet? It happening to me now. Especially loud when weather is cold or after rain. When I shut off the engine it goes click-click-click..click...click. Sounds like its coming from the cam gears and I feel a lot of vibration there when I put my hand on the cover. I have a cf hood and lots of moisture can get inside. Oil levels are good.

Lifters. Pull them out and clean them or replace them. It's a mitsu thing.

Could also be the cam positioning sensor... Any recent tunes?

Well... Since that's on the opposite side from the cam gears... That's less likely than the lifters.
