Sorry but mod'd cars are not random.

Is your exhaust stock or mod'd?
Is your friends car emissions legal or mod'd?

I got caught in their "sting" operation last year in my stock AS VIII MR. they're really hurting for money right now.

Ofcourse mostly every Evo are moded in anyway. I just never got hasseled by them. But the officer that got me was pretty cool because his a ex-marine sargeant. I told him I was joining and so he let me go on modified exhaust just fix it 8) But he said thier going after anyone regardless state needs to get people with no plates and vehicles with exhaust no matter what, he also said hood poping mandatory >:(
But they are going after you with no plates on the fwy, street, colleges, parking lots of any place and site you :idiot2: I was like :-o and like screw it you keep us safe from being stupid I told him and he replied Im planning to buy an Evo X and I said great 1 cop on our side lol. But thanks to all if anyone has Stock or any low tone exhaust that dont look aggressive let me know too ;)

No problems rolling through the PCC/Lake Ave area yet, knock on wood. I have a stealth exhaust but the evo is lightning yellow. Thanks for the heads up.

I haven't had problems with my straight pipe at PCC. I go through the smaller streets to get to bonnie and then the parking lot.

A couple things is to put it into a neutral if you see a cop regardless of what exhaust you have and the second thing is to get the hell out of sight of the cop as quiet as possible. I've passed by several cops at the stoplight, along with the motorcycle cops that used to wait beside PCC in the Burger King parking lot and as long as you're chill(I shift below 2000) you're fine around PCC. I think they care more about how loud you drive it rather than the exhaust itself in this particular area.

I've been lucky around PCC area so far. I do notice the cops staring at me everytime i pass by but i've fortunate enough for them going the opposite direction. What evoninerr said is true, once you spot a cop, turn into some random streets or do whatever it takes to prevent them from pulling you over, just do it quietly.

I drive and LS1 powered RX7 and live in Pasadena. I think I'd pretty much let them impound my car before willingly submitting to a hood pop. Just put my front plate back on to have one less thing to get hasseled about.
