AEM is more stealth, and honestly the gains are gonna be about the same. Go AEM.

alright then, AEM it is. i was just amazed on the INJEN's ads that their intake would gain 28 hp,. i dont know if thats true.
compared to AEM which is 16 hp.

I went AGP, its not CARB legal but the design is rare. You can check them out @ AGpturbo .com

AEM's claims are understated. To get Injen's claimed increase run two boost solenoid return hoses. If you like bling and long moon lit talks with men in uniform, the Injen is for you. Otherwise the AEM gives a stealthy option that is pretty much the only way to go in So Cal. Both can be made to make the same power, it is really a looks and life style preference between the two..

That these intakes make same hp/sound as the ARC induction box?

thanks for the response, AEM installed yesterday and looks sweet and neat. took me 2 hrs to install it though, but not bad for a first timer. next project, 02 housing DP (any ideas where i can have it installed for a reasonable price)

We did a comparison of AEM vs injen at road race engineering. Put both on the dyno. Injen gave me about 3 whp AEM was a solid 24 whp. AEM does a much better job and we obviously decided to run that.

I actually got pulled over by a cop and he asked where it was. I told him I thought it was in the box and he let me off. I'm not sure ifyounhave to request it from AEM or photoshop one

o2 housing and DP don't take a lot of mechanic experience. just making everything line up is probably the hardest part. choosing the parts i guess too.

The AEM intake trick's the MAF sensor to increase boost therefore gaining more HP. The best way to test this is to put on the Injen intake, perform a tune on the vehicle, take off the Injen intake and put on the AEM intake and retune and then compare results.

Who wants to pay for two tunes to prove that?

I this case the Injen tricked it's self. The return hose fitting for the boost control solenoids was blocked internally. That actually made it make lower than stock boost. Injen was notified and they made sure that what they had on the shelf did not have that problem and to make sure it couldnt happen again.

Even bypassing around that issue the AEM made more power than the Injen on this car that day. In the end it comes down to price and bling. For the average So Cal guy that tips in favor of the AEM.

It's been proven that the AEM Intake use a larger than stock diameter MAFS pipe, so it essentially tricks the ECU into leaning the fuel mixture out. This can actually be dangerous but AEM has done their R&D not to lean it out too much to cause knock. Essentially you can say the AEM is a type of tune, that is the reason why putting that intake on an untuned X will give you the huge HP increase they claim.

On an evo X, dp and O2 housing are a PITA....the dp isnt to bad as long as you have angled wrenches and what not, but the o2......forget it. i would rather remove an intake manifold then that thing. sorry OP cant help you there, and thanks for the guys that put my name out there O0
