Rear diff locking under hard accel?? wtf?

I'm curious if any1 else is running into this issue, or it's just my car, i'll describe a scenerio, you tell me whatcha think is goin on.

Sitting at a red light, lined up w/ a bone stock '08 Mustang GT. Light turns green, neither of us launch hard, shift to second and pull away from the ford easy...shift to 3rd, and stomp on the gas and the rear diff locks up, car sputters, let off the gas, and ease back into it, and it's fine. Oh, and the mustang blew past me by this time.

It felt like someone punched me in the back of the head when the diff locked, if that's what it was. Is there a fix for this if it's the diff, or is it possibly something else?

any help would be great...

ACD equipped evo? The rear diff is supposed to lock up during straightline acceleration... sputtering issue must be caused by something else.

back to the problem.. diff. locking has nothing to do with sputtering and losing power.. something else is wrong

Sounds like you are hitting boost cut.. you probably have a boost controller and turned up the boost without a tune...
