I'm going to ask all you people who I conceder friends to not stop posting in the old LB or Torrance threads. We have 4 years of the LB meet being the best meet, we have four years of history good and bad. There are friendships from this meet that will last a lifetime. We have been able to keep this going because the meet has always been consistent. Then, all of a sudden this vendor just comes in and thinks he can just take over because he printed a couple of t-shirts, and stickers. He thinks he owns the meet now. He completely disregards the thread we have had all these years, and starts his own thread sponsored by bighead. It's crazy that no one thinks anything about it. Now if there is something I'm missing, like it's time for this kind of change. Fine, then I won't say another word. But seriously this is weird.

I understand what you are trying to say, and i respect the passion you have towards our meet but you went about this all wrong. The whole point of this other thread (long beach/ Torrance thread) was to observe the interest and see if it was worth merging, see if everyone in long beach/ Torrance wanted the merger. No one is trying to make 2 LB threads or 2 Torrance threads, YOU GUYS MISUNDERSTOOD THE POINT! If this other thread grew wings and people started to show that they wanted the 2 groups together then we were going to request that the LB thread, Torrance thread and the combined thread all be merged into 1 MEGA MEAT THREAD! Nothing would have been deleted. Nothing would have been changed. Just would have had all the past post history from both threads merged together that way we could all write/post/talk on the same thread! We would have ruled SCE... :)
So BIGGHEDS didn't decide he wanted to take over. He saw the obvious and tried to do what everyone was thinking already! MERGE LB AND TORRANCE!
So don't get so mad! There was obviously a misunderstanding here. I just think we should have all talked about this last night not post it up on here and talk down on BIGGHEDS. They put in A LOT of time, money and effort into making sure we had a kick ass MOD and never asked for anything in return!

Yeah... my mom keeps saying how she want's all of us to go back and spend 2 weeks there. All of us meaning my bros and sis, mom and dad. My girl and most likely my brother's girl. That's 8 people. That's over 10K just to get there!!! It's crazy how expensive it is to travel... One day though, hopefully sooner rather than later. I've been content with going to Maui every year and staying with my girls family. Some of the same beauty, but not the same emotion. I might wait till my little girl gets older so that she can remember it. I have all kinds of pictures of me out there when I was younger, but I can't really remember much of anything. My sister got to go back 3 times with my aunt when we were younger and I was always like nah I don't wanna leave my mom and dad haha. Now I wish I would have so I would have more memories.

This morning I called Rick to ask him if I was right or wrong. I respect Ricks opinion, and am willing to accept whatever he said. so here it is in a nut shell. He said that I was at least half wrong. He said that I misunderstood what Brian was trying to do. So here it is:

The only thing I could have misunderstood was Brian's intentions. He might have had the best intentions in the world. However, coming in with an overly aggressive attitude, and wanting to take command of the situation with his own thread, because that is how he thinks it should be, was never going to work. In the same vein, I shouldn't have reacted in such a defensive manor. I'm not wrong though about the thread-jack. First he puts up a poll as to weather we should "merge". Then all of a sudden, he puts up a thread that states "this is the new meet thread". It would have been easy to just ignore, except that someone made it a sticky, and unstickied the LB thread.

I have never had a beef with Brian, other than not respecting that there was already a thread in place, and that he didn't ask anyone if this would be ok. I guess I should have been more understanding as to the fact that he is an excitable person who acts instantly on every thought. Much like me.

As per the joining of the LB meet, and the Torrance meet, since I was one of the people who started the Torrance meet, and one of the people who started the Long Beach meet, of course I want to see that happen, but as Aaron said "they are different meets", and have different histories, and "should have separate threads". We should always have a standing invitation for us all to attend both meets. Albeit that Torrance is only once a month, but includes really great BBQ's.

In any case, since Brain is now posting in the regular threads I have absolutely no problem with him.

Furthermore, I am sorry Brian about any misunderstanding I had about your intention.

John Force (born May 4, 1949 in Bell Gardens, California) is an NHRA drag racer and 14 - time Funny Car champion. He is one of the most dominant drag racers in the sport with 126 career victories. Since mid-1998, Force has been a Ford driver and team owner.

Since 2000, Force has been sponsored by BP, which purchased his longtime sponsor Burmah Castrol, which had sponsored him since 1986. After winning his fourth Funny Car title in 1994, Force earned the nickname of "Brute Force", from drivers, and even announcers such as Steve Evans, this nickname harkens back to his early days on the track, when he drove his own unsponsored car, named, aptly enough, "Brute Force."

The Force Racing dynasty has dominated the sport of top fuel funny car racing. In a fifteen-year span from 1990 until 2004, John Force Racing won 14 of 15 championships, losing only to Cruz Pedregon driving the McDonald's sponsored car for Larry Minor Racing in 1992. The dynasty includes a championship by Tony Pedregon in 2003, driving Force's Castrol Syntec Mustang. Tony left to join his brother Cruz at Pedregon Racing in 2004. Force had a cameo in a 2004 episode of "King of the Hill" ("Dale Be Not Proud")

In 2005 however, John Force was edged out by a mere 32 points by Don Schumacher Racing's Gary Scelzi who won the NHRA 2005 Funny Car World Championship. He also came in behind Schumacher Racing's Ron Capps by only 24 points

In 2006, John Force won his 14th NHRA World Funny Car Championship, defeating Ron Capps in the quarter-finals of the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals which mathematically eliminated Ron Capps and teammate Robert Hight from the championship. Force went on to win the event, his third of the season and 122nd of his career.

2007 was a very tough, tragic season for the Force team, beginning with the death of team driver Eric Medlen, and Force's own crash in Ennis, Texas at the 2007 O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals. Force started the year poorly, suffering a DNQ ending a 20+ year consecutive qualifying streak (no Funny Car team qualified for every race in 2007, as every driver suffered at least one DNQ; Force was also the benefactor of the NHRA's top-10 rule when he failed to qualify for a second race, at Pacific Raceways, when only one round of qualifying was held because of rain, as he was moved into the field because of his point standing.). He rebounded, winning the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tennessee, then proceeded on to 3 more final rounds, winning another race in Sonoma, California, putting him fourth in points and allowing him to make the first cut in NHRA's new point system, the Countdown to the Championship aka the "Countdown to Eight." He stumbled again in the first two races but, again, rebounded until his crash, involving yet beating, Kenny Bernstein in the quarter-finals. Injuries he sustained were a broken ankle, abraision of his right knee, a dislocated left wrist, and badly mangled fingers and toes. This crash kept him from racing the rest of the year, but he was still in the top ten for points. Ironically, his win put him in fourth place, which would have allowed him to make the next cut under the new points format, if he'd been able to maintain it. He spent the remaining three races of the season recovering from his injuries and watching his team mates.

Current drivers racing under him are son-in-law Robert Hight, daughter Ashley Force, and new member Mike Neff. Neff, who was the crew chief for rival driver Gary Scelzi for the 2005 season, earned his NHRA Funny Car licence in October 2007 and began racing for the team on October 26, 2007 at the AC Delco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.

On September 23, 2007 Force was injured in a crash at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Fall Nationals in Ennis, Texas as he crossed the finish line against Kenny Bernstein. Bernstein's Funny Car drifted into Force's lane, clipping the final timing cone and a foam block which shot into Force's lane. Initially, it was thought that the block ruptured Force's left rear tire, causing it to come apart, violently shaking the chassis until it broke apart. However, it was determined by NHRA after thorough review, that the block went behind Force's tire and was not the cause of the wreck.[1] Phil Burkart Jr. was added as Force's replacement for the remainder of the 2007 season, starting too at Las Vegas.

It is suspected that the violent tire-shake coupled with the controversial use of partially heat-treated chrome moly chassis tubing caused the funny car's frame rails to break. Simultaneous deployment of the car's twin parachutes inflicted further structural stress on the already failing chassis, resulting in the chassis being jerked neatly in half, at the front edge of the driver's cockpit. The front-half of Force's car veered into Bernstein's path, impacted Bernstein's car and briefly rode on top it, before slamming into the right lane's retaining wall and sliding several yards into the sand trap. The rear portion of Force's car, with Force still strapped inside, eventually came to rest against the left lane's retaining wall. News footage would show that Force's feet & legs were slightly extended beyond the breaking point of the chassis. Force was awake and alert as he was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The 14-time NHRA Funny Car champion suffered a compound fracture to his left ankle, a bone-deep laceration to his right knee, broken fingers and lacerations on his right hand and dislocation of his left wrist, originally diagnosed as a break. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Hight was in the Countdown to One final two-race segment, but fell in the first round of Las Vegas, and when Tony Pedregon won that race when the other three Countdown to One drivers fell in the first round, including Ron Capps, who fell to Force's replacement Burkart in the first round. Pedregon needed only to win one round to win the championship. Pedregon fell in the first round, and Hight had a chance to win the championship with a win and a National Record in elapsed time. Hight did not score the necessary time, and Pedregon won the championship.

Force holds the record for most Funny Car championships (14, the most from any racer in any division within the NHRA), fastest elapsed time in the funny car class (4.665 sec.), fastest speed in the funny car class (333.65 mph), and for qualifying in the most consecutive events (395), a streak that ended when he withdrew from a Houston Raceway Park event after a test run crash killed a teammate and the entire Force organization withdrew from the ensuing race.[citation needed] His daughter Ashley Force also competes in the Funny Car class of the NHRA. John Force is the driver and public face of the team, which is led by Austin Coil and Bernie Fedderly. Force is known for also being an outspoken, fast talker.

Force suffered from polio as a child, which resulted in one leg growing shorter than the other. Although he has this affliction, it is such that he does not need special shoes that make up for the difference.
Force is the only driver to have won more than ten championships in his division, beating the record once held by retired NHRA Pro Stock Champion Bob Glidden.

Springs are springs... They are not built for Big Performance gains, the shocks always play a bigger role! If you have the Bilstein shocks than slapping a good quality spring on will make the most out of a comfortable mild drop! When it comes to springs Eibach, H&R are my favorite for sure! Have had many many sets on several different cars! The springs that are on my ride now are Works. I bought the setup from Wil... ^tell me about it.. The funniest and lamest shit happened at the meet last night.

There was some douche bag in a muscle car that you could hear coming. All of a sudden he punched it in the parking lot and peeled some rubber.. well little did he know that there was a cop in the drive thru line at in n out. The cop, not being able to reverse, got out of his car and was like WTF do you think you're doing. That shit was funny as hell.

Now for the lame part. The cop let him go with a verbal! Man if that was one of us we would have gotten a ticket for sure. We were standing by the drive thru exit and the cop rolled by and was like haha that guy thought he was getting a ticket for sure. Our response: was it a super cool car, is that why you didn't give him a ticket. And the cop was like not that. I made my point when I talked to him. I could have impounded his car and made this the worst night of his life, but he already felt like a fucking dumb ass. His girl was in the passenger seat clowning him, you guys were laughing your asses off. I think he got the point and was embarrassed. And that's when he told us to take it easy and was like alright and next time it's going to be all of you and these intrepids. (it took him a while to even say intrepid, he was just staring at the cars thinking what the fuck are these.

All in all he was a pretty cool cop, one that I wouldn't mind being pulled over by. But it sucks that muscle douche didn't get a ticket.

My girl is from Temecula and the house prices out there kill me. For 500k in Temecula you can get an acre of land and a 3,000 sq ft home. My mom wanted to move out there, but like your mom her business is here in Carson and she could not run it from out there.

This house was a fixer upper when we bought it 2 years ago. At that time it still appraised for 500k and we bought it for 400k, we put about 100k down and after taxes and fees our finance amount was about 330k. So the house potentially had at least 170k of equity and by the time we finished it, the price would be worth more due to the upgrades. Well the market took a shit as we all know and now the house is only worth what we owe on it. So we pretty much lost that 100k that we put down on it. I know the housing prices will bounce back and we’ll eventually get that money back, but that is a tough pill to swallow knowing 100k just went out the window.
