Well guys, the time has come. We have just finished the last revision for our intake manis. These intake mani's are cut open and reworked.
Â* Â*On to the facts of this intake mani. We did do a comapare vs. the Wilson V.2. This intake mani flows with in 2% on each runner.
Â* Â*As an OVERALL this intake mani out flowed the Wilson V.2 by 11%. The intake mani has over 12hrs of work on them and they are a true piece.
Â* Â*All testing was done same day on a SuperFlow Flo bench. All the testing was done next door to my shop @ a machine shop called Total Performance. I am very happy to be presenting this intake mani to the public for a fair price. I will keep the actual testing up to date as it occurs.
Â* Â*First we will be testing this intake mani on a stock EVO 9 turbo and slowly working towards the HTA.82 (My RS). I will have graphs tomorrow as what power output we see. All tests willl be done on pump 91 oct with an avg. of 25 psi.
Â* Â*Below I have posted pics of the mani. The welds being exposed will be addressed upon order and purchase. The customer who purchased this mani does not care the appearance of the mani. We will also be offering it coated to a color of your choice. At this point I am expecting to see a low end loss of power due to the size of the plenum. The down side of the larger plenum is it will decrease spool up by 2-300 rpms. I will guarantee gains above 4500 revs on an avg. of 20 whp on a stock frame turbo ( grn,red what have you). Tomorrow this will be determined or presented as we will do all the testing to see what gains we actually see so this isn't a specualation as it is now.
Â* In regards to the pricing,
These units only have (2) options. Standard which will retail @ $1195.00 with no coating. That will be standard. Which is depicted below.
Â* Option 2 will be with coating and is an additional $150.00. Both versions standard or coated offer the same quality port craftsmanship.
All units are flow bench tested before and after work to ensure the same quality job is done routinely. They will also include the FLO sheet for each unit and will correspond to the Unit ID number on your intake mani. If time permits in the next couple days I will post pics of the process of the mani. It is quite amazing what is done to them inorder to make a quality piece like this.
Â* I truly feel that once the public understands the usage and reasons of the OEM intake mani, sheet aluminum intakes will vanish. Mitsu engineers knew what they were doing with these intakes. The design of the runners is what enables these stock frame turbines to spool so fast. In addition to the deisgn and layout of the intake a good port and increased plenum size will truly outperform nearly all sheet aluminum intakes. Not only will you see good low end, the top end rpm band will increase significantly due to the size of this plenum. Thats where this intake mani is a step ahead all other ported or reworked OEM intakes.
