My friends classmate has a integra DA with a h22 swap, and he is very insistence that he can smoke evos. So my friend wants me to race him at irwindale, i have a completely stock evo and have never been to strip, should i worry???

here are the mods on his car

H22 swap
gsr ecu
f23 tranny or f22 not sure
he said hes gonna have some slicks

ill be honest and this should end this topic, the evo should win especially off the line. even though your car is stock is ok, but wiith out the driver mod....needless to say....your f**ked. i would never race anyone unless i was confident that i could win, maybe your friend with the big mouth should race him... oh wait his mom's 2009 camry is only a 4cyl. its ok to say no and save yourself and the community the embarrassment

good luck my friend

05-10-2009, 12:15 AM
yea, i want to go for a test run if i do before and make sure i dont look like a fool and bog it or something stupid like that

not sure what it would run, but the motor is rated 200hp and 150 torque at the crank.

you may have some trouble, considering those cars have pretty light and offer a decent amount of hp. if you can launch your car, you should be able to take him.

basically h22 w/ header n exhaust.. I've seen civic w/ H22 swap w/ pretty much stock internals run 13.5..
considering it's weight it'd run anywhere between 13.7~14 ish.. maybe down to 13.5 with slicks.. who knows..
so technically, if you can drive your stock evo to it's full potential, you should be in worst case senario on par.

05-10-2009, 01:53 AM
who ever had that civic with a h22 swap you saw run 13.5 didnt tell you they had a shot of nitrous theres no way a civic with almost stock h22 would run 13s

My buddy had a lude that we dumped all the weight and modded way more than that car and lowest we got it was a very high 13 like 13.80

5500K and dump it and keep it nailed... DONT SHORT SHIFT... Run it until its about to tach redline

with his setup and your stock evo...if you can launch on him and do it well, the 8th shouldnt be a problem...but if you bogg out off the line...you lose your advantage.

what is he getting done to his car

jebus27

i wont be stock by june tho, trying to get a qtp downpipe and a tune.

jdmcwestevo
05-17-2009, 09:45 PM
i would get him really really nervous so he launches hard and snaps a CV because he sounds like a dumb ass. i'll race him in my evo im 100% stock ;) or so it seems haha have someone who is good at launching and driving evos do it if u cant drive ur gonna get ur ass beat. the 1/8 u should kill him easily IF you can drive. keep in mind he probably has more than wat he claims as well pop hoods before the race man and after.

LOL yea i wouldnt really worry about it... my buddy had a h22 in those old preludes (which i believe are lighter than the integras) and he was dead even with a bone stock new civic SI
I don think headers and all that bolony will make up to beat you

lol it prolly just sounds fast

335eater
06-12-2009, 09:00 AM
thats the story with most hondas, sound fast but arent. thats pretty common with srt4's as well lol :2funny:

xchosun1x
06-12-2009, 09:47 AM
i wouldnt underestimate the potential of a properly built honda.
my old hatch ran mid 13s on true street tire...with a shitty 2.2 60ft

all depends on the weight of the DA. a stock h22 (jdm) with minimal mods and tuned hondata can put down some good power. And if slicked down, can be pretty quick off the line as well.

i think its going to be mostly a driver vs driver race. Get off the line quick..the honda will be playing catch up all day.

335eater
06-12-2009, 01:22 PM
ill underestimate all day, anything less then fully built turbo isnt gonna be fast, my buddy has a stripped eg with a fully built n/a b20 260whp and i smoked him with slicks and without

S2myEVO
06-12-2009, 01:27 PM
wtf is a honda?

Ruthless.

id have to quote this for truth because when i had mine it didn't catch traction till 80ish on street tires. :2funny:

other than that, if they have traction, they are no joke. srt's that is. honda's are very laughable.

335eater
06-12-2009, 03:14 PM
i havent run into a respectable srt that can keep up yet, im sure with a 35r they could be fast i just wanna know how long the tranny will hold up with that kind of power

xchosun1x
06-12-2009, 03:15 PM

260 whp with a proper chassis should run 11's
im not sure what kind of power your making but 260whp in a eg chassis is pretty damn fast

335eater
06-12-2009, 03:17 PM
my car makes decent power ;)

xchosun1x
06-12-2009, 03:19 PM
haha well if my evo made 1000whp i would underestimate all day long lols

curious tho..what kind of power are you making?

335eater
06-12-2009, 03:20 PM
480/400 at the moment

yea i hear ya...tuning tech gets hot!
im putting together my next tuning session to take place in the winter!!! lol

335eater
06-12-2009, 03:28 PM
for sure, ive got too many things to decide between right now, idk if i should do bigger injectors and e85, fpred with injectors and e85, or keep the 30r i have and build a stroker

xchosun1x
06-12-2009, 03:39 PM
those all seem like the kind of decisions people only wish they had the options for!

if it were me..i think i'd try out bigger injectors and e85

cheapest option at this point..and you always have the other alternatives if you wish for more

335eater
06-12-2009, 05:40 PM
true but i could just use the money toward the more expensive ones and not bother with the hassle

xchosun1x
06-12-2009, 10:05 PM
true that as well...
i think either way..u'll be pretty happy with the results

evoruff
06-14-2009, 01:33 AM
theres just not many stations that offer E85 but here in LA. I would always get a turbo that you wont get bored of so a 30r is plenty and other mods such as a built engine would be wise of you regardless of the octane and/or power you can get.
