Hi Guys,

I am almost done with my grading for my college job. I am not teaching all of this summer. So for the month of June and July I am offering a 25% discount on tuning prices during the WEEKDAY, ie, Monday through Friday. Weekend prices remain unchanged. The discount ONLY applies to tuning. It does not apply to the cost of pills, boost hoses, and power charts. It does not apply to re-tuning prices.

So here are the TUNING prices for WEEKDAYS for the month of June and July:

Evo VIII & IX Tuning Prices

Tuning with MBC:
Â* Â*$150
Â* Â*$150+$20 (DLL Baseline)*= $170

Tuning with ECU boost control:
Â* Â*$150+$10 (Pill)+$20 (Install)= $180
Â* Â*$150+$10 (Pill)+$20 (Install)+$20 (DLL Baseline)*=$200
Â* Â*$150+$30 (Pill+Boost hose)+$20 (Install)= $200
Â* Â*$150+$30 (Pill+Boost hose)+$20 (Install)+$20 (DLL Baseline)*= $220
Â* Â*Re-tune $140
Â* Â*Re-tune $140+$20 (DLL Baseline)*=$160

*Doing baseline logs (before the tune) and running them in DataLogLab allows me to calculate the power gains on your car.

Evo X Tuning Prices

Tuning with MBC: $165*
Tuning with ECU Boost: $180*

*Add $20 if you want a before and after baseline power charts

These are the best bang-for-the buck prices on tuning in all of SoCal. I do not skimp on time invested in tuning your car either. On average it now takes me about 3-4 hours to tune a car. If it takes me all day to tune your car, you will still pay the same amount of money. If I cannot tune your car, then you pay nothing even if I invested a full day's work trying to tune it.

The first customer who took advantage of this great deal

http://www.socalevo.net/forum/index.php?topic=79671.0

The customer paid $150 for the tune, not including the pill and install and baseline. If you divide the cost by max power gained, then he paid $3.48 per hp and $3.13 per ft-lb of torque. This is one of the best bang-for-your buck tune in all of SoCal O0

Would you recommend upgrading to the JDM sensor; and if so, are you able to supply it and install it?

silvrEVOIXn818
06-15-2009, 10:53 AM
all a JDM map sensor will do for you, is allow you to be able to log boost, (and switch to "PSI based control") so if you log your car, I would recommend getting 1!!!Â* It is NOT necessary, as Naji can tune w/ or w/ out...Â* But if I remember correctly, he will use his own to log your car, and flash it to the final rom, and pull the sensor out.

Im not sure if he does installs, but this should be easy enough, just some .xml modifications, strap it on, and off you go... I dont think he carries these, but you can get them from 2 places. @ the dealership, ask for an EVO X map sensor, or you can get them from mrfred, on EVOM. I think he still has some...

Timujin

^ yeah he will swap for his JDM sensor for tuning. Then when all is done he'll swap it back to your factory sensor. You don't need to purcahse in order to tune with him.

The offer is good until the end of July. You still have plenty of time.

BTW, I tune an Evo 9 this monday. A former customer who strayed to another tuner and came back with knocking issues. Solved the knock problem on the car and added 18 hp and 18 ft-lb to boot :D

I got mine from RussellM on evom. Just ask for an Evo X map sensor. Mine was $125 shipped. The mods to the ROM are simple and well documented on evom.

I have my own JDM MAP sensor. As Timujin said, I will swap it in and change the data in the ECU to allow me to log boost and then swap it out and change the data back to stock. It is a bit tedious, but it is well worth it. Much better than using a gauge that can vary 1-2 psi higher or lower than the actual boost.

My recommendation is to buy one and I will install it for you and change the data in the ECU. This way you will have a permanent stealth way to log boost. On my car I have the JDM sensor connected to an XD-16 gauge set to read boost. It has worked great so far.

Tuned another Evo 9 today. The guy drove from San Diego. We did not do a baseline since the car had a Gruppe S 3-port. It ended up holding 21.5-22 psi by redline with 15% WGDC to spare. He wants to get an E85 tune once he gets injectors installed.

Who wants to be next?

So far I am able to get 250+ miles per tank on my tune. That is driving with A/C on when needed and getting into the throttle for FWY merging. I feel like I need to upgrade the clutch/tranny soon for insurance.

Best bang for the buck IMHO. Thanks again Naji.

Yes I do. But you need to have your car ready for E85. Here is what you need to install:

1. RC 1000 CC injectors
2. Gruppe S 3-port Solenoid. We need this so we can have more head room to increase the boost on E85.
3. Switching harness connected to the ECU

I do not do installs. You will have to get these installed then come and see me for a tune.

The cost is $320 for the 91 octane and E85 on the weekday.

Naji tuned my 9 SE today and WOW. He is a fantastic tuner with a true passion for EVO's and tuning. Looney will spend as much time as needed to make your car perfect. I would have paid twice the amout for this kind of personal service. O0

Just finished tuning an Evo X. This one is special since it is the first time I was able to log WGDCC with Evoscan. This parameter is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY important to fine tune boost. I was able to hold boost steady at 25.4-25.3 psi from 3300 rpm to 4300 rpm in 4th gear thanks to the fine tuning that you can do whne logging WGDCC. It was unreal.

I will post about the car later on.

So who is next?

Tuned yet another Evo X with an MBC. Even though we started with non-stock non-tapering boost, it still made almost 30 hp and more than 30 ft-lb of TQ.

Who wants to be next?

Hurry up and get the discount while it lasts.

Ruthless.

I tuned an Evo X on Thursday. The car made 63 hp and 40 ft-lb. The owner paid $180 for the tune. That comes out to $2.86 per hp. That is the best bang-for-buck mod that you can get.

I also tuned an Evo IX on Friday. We did not do a baseline since the car already had a Gruppe-S 3-port solenoid. It would have been a nightmare trying to simulate stock like boost with it.

I also tune an Evo X today. No baseline since his fuel trims were high. I had to fix them first before I tuned. Lowering the trims from +10.9 LTFT to 2-4 LTFT leaned out the car and made it run at 11:1 AFR on the stock fuel map. WOW.

The 25% off ends next Friday and I am not extending it into August.

Here are some juicy bits from the Evo X I tuned today:

http://www.sr20deracing.com/looneytuning/Evo/RJ/psi.gif

Yes, that is right 20.4 psi by redline on the STOCK boost solenoids WITHOUT the pill and 24 psi of boost from 3000 rpm to 5500 rpm :crazy2:

http://www.sr20deracing.com/looneytuning/Evo/RJ/boost_gears.gif

Almost the exact same peak boost from 1st gear to 4th gear at WOTÂ*  And this was not done on a freaking level dyno. It was done on the road, because you do not drive on the dyno :D

This could be your Evo X. Hurry up before the special ends.

I wanna get Tooned already but gotta save up cause I don't have the pill/hose. Does it make sense Naji to get a tune with just a TBE? I mainly want it for the boost factor, but are power gains decent or should I wait for a couple more mods?
