Well I can tell you I just had a custom 24x13.5x3.5 Spearco made for me by RRE. I can also tell you that you can get a custom 3 inch griffin that flows better than the 3.5 ETS for less money.

RRE and they make it for you to your spec... I think the 3" core is around 475... DO NOT QUOTE ME but I am pretty sure that is it.

how's the feedback on that FMIC so far?
i know RRE makes good products but never heard of this one.
do you thinks it has a better flow than the costly ETS or AGP?

Well this is absolutely a mod that needs to be done sooner than later. The Xs make power so easy and no one is talking about cooling them. With my new Custom IC,UICP,LICP there is a definite smoothed out power band cause I run 100 Oct and it delivers smooth power so there is no noticeable pressure drop. The thing is a work of art. I may get LOD to weld me a staute hes so fluid. It looks great, feels great, flows great and def needs to get a new tune. Maybe well mess with it at the SCM meet.

COMPLETED ETS VS just MY CORE

go with the Griffin cause it flows better and saves money and its like saying you have an HKS turbo kit. HKS doesnt make turbos Honeywell and Garrett do... Griffin is like Garrett.. They are the core units before they are assembled... TRUST a fellow OB10...

did they modify anything during the installation like the trimming or removing the bumper support?

Mine cause I have the largest one thats made... The 3" griffin core is a direct drop in for the stock with a much higher flow...

Thats alright at least you know it works..., If you dont plan on going 3076 or larger have them make you the 3.25 griffin core and you will be good up to a 3076...

Get yourself the ETS 3.5 from RRE and your set.

Either is fine but the 3.25 Griffin flows more than the 3.5 ETS and is 100-150 cheaper. Talk to Mike "Grape Jelly" W himself. We spend lots of quality time talking about the only important thing for my car.

WHAT WORKS BEST

im confused why the smaller 3.25" core from griffin flows more better than the ets 3.5" core.
i thought the bigger core it has the better flow it gets.
educate me pls..

Griffin core uses a wider surface area because all you see is the front of the cooler but if you look at the sides, which is what matters the Griffin is tube and fin which is WAY WAY WAY more open that the ETS. The ETS has small openings on the sides compared to the Griffin so although the thickness matters some if the actual passages are larger on the side you will flow more. If the front is very open it will cool faster.
