Does anyone have a Colt Speed - Engine Cover?Â* If so, where did you get it and how much did it cost?Â* I can't find it on their website or catalog.Â* Thanks.

Too bad I can't find anyone that has one. :)

I have a feeling they discontinued them or something.

Or its not available yet. The X is too new for them to be discontinued me thinks.

Maybe they never made a production run of them.Â* I'm thinking they were just prototypes on their EVO X car at Tokyo Auto Salon 2008?

Driveline vendor posted them for sale last year in March of 2008!Â* I sent them a PM but haven't heard back yet.

How much do you think? I wonder if alot of guys would be interested in something like this. I hate the plastic stock one and it seems like everyone is going carbon fiber.

You are looking at a price between $360-$410 bucks. But the bigger issue is availability in the states.

Ouch! That's a huge chunk of change. I know it's a rather large piece and is really good quality (from what I can tell), but still. I doubt anyone would pay over $325 for something like this.

That's an expensive piece of aluminum...

If I remember correctly, ARC manufactures many parts for Colt Speed. As you know, ARC parts are already expensive, then add extra money for private labeling + profit, and there you have Colt Speeed pricing!

Looks like they're for sale now.

This cover from Subtle Solutions is also in production and should be available to purchase/pre-order within the next week or so.Â* The two are very similar, but it the Subtle one is a slightly more affordable (sub $300 shipped) and covers more of the engine.

Check it out here:Â* http://www.subtle-solutions.com/product_info.php?products_id=59&osCsid=2b0e06cdbb58208e1bfa46e5c75b5dac

Also, there is a thread going on another forum with some pictures:Â* http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-show-shine/433529-subtle-evo-x-engine-cover.html

Looks like its a $50 price difference between the Coltspeed one and the Subtle one... thats gonna be a tough call. JDM goody, or domestic ingenuity....

the funny thing about the Subtle one is that, the "Subtle" logo....isn't so subtle

That was just put there for MOD. I know because one of the cars is mine.

Which logo are you talking about? Â*The removable sticker or the laser cut branding logo in the very top left corner?

From what I was told, the sticker will NOT be applied on the cover for production. Â*It was only put on for pictures and marketing during the MOD car show/event this past weekend.

I should photoshop one of these pictures so people don't get confused. Or, have my friend take some pictures without the sticker.

I would agree with you, definitely get new pictures out there or p-shop one real quick. Not knocking the product, but that big logo there is a bit of a turn off (I realize it is good marketing though). If you get some pictures out there without the big sticker, I think you will get a great response from the Evo X community, considering Colt Speed is hard to come by.

I'll take my sticker off and take a picture. No big deal.
