...so i'm planning to get the autometer ultarlite oil pressure gauge...i'm planning to mount the sender by the oil filter...my question is does the sender fit there without a problem, or am i going to need an adapter for it...

Most likely you will need an adapter 3/8 to 1/8 NPT adapter. The typical sensor size is 1/8 NPT.
