I currently have a X MR with HKS cat back exaust, HKS down pipe, Innercooler piping, AEM cold air intake, and cobb access port, with a stage 2 flash. When my car shifts from 2nd gear to first sometimes i get a little backfire. I was wondering if it could be the tune or what, and what would be a good solution to fix this.

Absolutely nothing to worry about here, if I remember correctly its just excess fuel/fumes burning off in the exhaust system. A lot of cars with tunes have this same instance. I get them quite often even at cruise, at WOT i will shoot out some flames

that seemed to happen to my Cobb stage 2 STi when i had it, i think it's just the result of the off the shelf map, it's pretty common

Are you running the California specific 91 octane map, or the normal 91 octane map?

wouldn't something like Okada Projects or something HKS Twin Power help the backfiring?

I love backfire myself, I wont lie, the sound is pretty tantalizing if you know what i mean ;).
It's your tune....you shouldn't be "backfiring" :buck2:
