Does anyone kno if the tranny from a 9 (5speed) fit on an 8??

Like Charlie syas, yes it fits...just make certain we are talking about 5 speed to 5 speed. Gearing is different on the two 5 speeds and thats it

Yes it will....all the drive train components between the Evo 8 and Evo 9 are interchangeable.
