hi my name is carlos and i just bought an Ultimate Racing 3" Long Down Pipe for my 2008 evo x. i asked around for some installation prices and there all around $300. does anyone know where i can get my downpipe installed for cheaper. i live in torrance, ca and $300 is way out of my budget. does anyone know where i can go?

yes i am willing to go if the installation is cheap enough, id rather spend on gas then to spend $300 on an installation

Just an FYI.....that o2 Housing/Downpipe combo is a COMPLETE PITA to install which is why you probably got quoted $300 for it.

And having one also adds the same install labor/cash to getting your clutch replaced when it comes time. The long DPs are in the way of taking off the transfer case.

Unless you are at the end of bolt ons I would wait and do that with something else like clutch or motormounts. Im on the stock 02 and make 360 on pump gas.. Trust me you arent outflowing it unless you have a Huge turbo...

Return the Ultimate DP and just get the one without the O2 eliminator and get the regular one from RRE.. and call it a day.. I got you lined up with Mike at RRE and just go with it.. I agree with "blkside".. Unless you doing more than clutch or motormounts then do it.. Your car is still brand new and just get the regular DP at RRE... There's a lot of labor in doing that ultimate racing DP w/O2 housing... Do the whole package at RRE (which we agreed and worked on) and its a done deal...

Mxp downpipe is excellent and it is on my car and from stock you can feel the pickup difference between the two. When you go big then work on the o2... I made that decision a long time ago cause it doesnt create power it allows you to create power with other parts.
