Hello,

I just installed coilovers on my car about a week now and finally got my car aligned. The alignment went good but I did notice that the car pulls slightly to the right when the steering wheel is let go. I then took it back to the shop, they made some minor adjustments but still the same feeling is still there. The mechanic also mentioned that some cars have safety and sometimes pulls the steering to the right.

Is this true?

Has anybody experienced this or is it just me?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

the so called saftey thing is not true... atleast not on our cars..

You need to check the tire preasures as well as the tire wear and make sure all 4 tires are properly inflated as well as worn correctly.

If all that still is good, odds are that the place you took it to has alignment machine that is not properly calibrated. Ive seen this happen before and have experianced it before. They will blame everything else before they blame their own machine.

I just made the first payment to my EVO X. I believe that the tires should still be in good standing since it has only seen about 1300 miles.

Try rotating your tires. Rarely happens but it could be radial pull. Rotate the front to back. If it stops pulling cross rotate them again and it should pull left. If it does so the u have a defective tire.

what I dont get is that, when I had the car stock, it was running fine. I installed coilover and even if it was badly out of alignment, the car was still running straight. After getting alignment, first and second time, the car still slightly pulls to the right.

I know the new coilovers are installed correctly with no bent stuff. The tires and pressure are good all four corners.

Should I take it to a different alignment shop?

Is there any good alignment shop near OC?

Thanks,

Also, would it be ok to drive the car even if it's slight moving to the right? What harm can it cause besides tire wear?

Thanks,

Your evo should not pull to either the left or right.

We are located west of the 405 fwy just off of the baker street exit of the 55fwy, and have specialized in suspension set-up and alignment for many years.

Thanks.

Actually, I was just looking at your website and was wondering whether I should call or send an email. But yes, I will call Monday and set an appointment with you guys. This is bothering me and I need a specialist to fix my alignment.

I do not know what your personal definition of 'slight' is, but it should be ok other than tire wear and grip level.

oh it's very, very slight....my friend with a stock evo x is slightly moving to the right too when steering wheel is let go. It would go straight for a couple second and start moving to the right. No force can be felt on the steering wheel when driving.

Yup I used to have the same Problem! But as soon as I bought a new set of Tires that issue went away!

if it is very slight, it could be because the streets are at a slant towards the curb.

dude I feel your pain after I lowered my car, my alignment was still perfect but since I lowered the car I felt I needed an alignment. So I went to South Coast Mitsubishi and they messed it up even more, first visit they said they couldn't fix it because they need alignment washers for the rear so I waited for a week for them to order the part when I got the car back my steering wheel was way off! then he said he'll fix all that when I bring it back in when the parts come in. I'm like cool, 2nd visit they fixed the alignment so they said but the steering wheel still veers to the right slightly. I don't care what people say about road pavement and etc. it didn't do it after I lowered the car it went straight and now after the alignment its a little off. So when I get a new set of wheels I will realign at a reputable alignment place, South coast fucked my car. There not all that great there, just a bunch of bs excuses! Monkeys doing repair work!
