Will be interesting to see how much power the X's block can take. I have a friend with a 335 and well, his OEM block cracked. If the bottom end is sleeved and all, no worries, but if not.....I believe Aluminum is more prone to stress fractures. Good Luck on the build and Keep us posted on what happends...the Good, and The Bad, haha...

Ryan gates has run 550 whp for an entire season and 450 last season
the motors will be fine as long as mitsubishi's relays keep the fuel pumps on!

I agree that a "race" car can survive since they are taken care of better than most DD's are. They are taken apart 10 times or more a season, sssssooooo Yeah they are reliable but wouldn't any car be when re assembled so many times and checked and re checked? In a race app sounds good, DD app, I think something going to give. Any motor has its breaking point. Lets just see what happends. The X is still too new to tell.

Here's a link about Ryan Gates' EVO X. He's got over 7,000 miles of race track experience on a stock block with no rebuild.

Yea the aluminum makes me nervous...my 8 felt so solid with the cast iron, but who knows maybe the x's will still take a beating...only time will tell!

The motors will hold.. but this is the point where the adage comes in "you gotta pay to play". If you cant afford a new motor then I wouldnt go beyond this point. I know of a build in progress which should crack 500Whp if it goes well with a modest tune. I will see what else I can find out about it. I know its gonna be set up for road courses so reliability over Hail Mary numbers and RJ.. you need to go to one of my meets ...

My car makes 470 on a conservative tune right now. and just ran a 1:30 @ big willow yesterday on 245 AD08's
I was closing on a GTR the whole session, he couldn't pull away even on the straights, and in the corners i got even closer. he ran a 1:31.X
