Suggestion for new rule

With the nonsense going on among vendors I think this would be a good idea..

If a customer post a thread about a vendor and another vendor posts in there, it should be a 1 week ban with all sales suspended.
If there is repeated incidents then it should be a month and so on.

I also think that ALL VENDORS should not post their prices in their sig because when they post in other threads it gives the allure they are being shady about trying to undercut services.

I think this place needs a little cleanup I guess..

Yeah, but think about the possible outcome if this actually played out. The only people that can remain in business must have little to no overhead, because rent/mortgage doesn't just get lowered. So what you are left with are roaming tuners/techs that YOU the consumer would have no recourse if a problem occurs. What if you need a serious repair performed on your car? What would you do if the only option was a traveling tech that had to do repairs in your apartment parking lot (imagine and engine job).

blkside makes a good point about insurance, but there are other things that SCE should look at before vendor status, namely a business license. Without a business license and a federal tax ID number you really should not be allowed to make a "business or sales" like posts. Now, clearly there is a for sale section where people sell items they have laying around and what have you, but not as a retailer. If a vendor is selling items in California, do they have a "sellers permit"? Do they charge you tax? Or, did they pay the sales tax first? If they are selling stuff in state they need to charge sales tax, have proof they paid it, or they are breaking the law.

So yeah, if you are ignorant and only know how to read a dictionary, yeah, that is the definition. If you find that there is no value in an established business with something to lose if they mess up your car, go ahead. Although here is how it will play out: no more vendors with a established shop and a FAIR labor rate ($70-$90 an HOUR). When you have a real problem you will end up at a dealership paying a shitload more, and they won't be specialists to this segment of vehicles.

wasn't bashing just supporting a friend/ shop. Shouldn't the vendors band TOGETHER to support each other?

SCE is here to help members build their vehicles and setup legal events. Not to promote illegal activities, in which if a Vendor is doing such by not properly following basic rules, SCE should not put up with it.

With that said, promoting "street tunes" on streets where "there's barely any cops" and "lets hope that lady doesnt call the cops on us again" shouldn't be allowed at all. Am I going to have to go look through the FTY threads to find that exact quote? I don't think so....

I remember certain former members stating that change of pace from the original stated idea, however did so in a poor way. Its understandable the direction it went, but the issues with Vendors is starting to underscore some of that ideology unfortunately. I dont think any of that Vendor BS that has been going on the last few months would have been tolerated a few years back, and they would have just gotten rid of those vendors...They had before, and for less cause. Now? not so much.

No matter what though, I for one am glad that RRE is here. Its great that there are other Vendors around, because competition is a good thing. However in the last decade RRE is what I would expect a vendor to be. My biggest complaint is the move from HB. Yea...I'll keep whining about it. At least Mueller moved back this way. Enough squeakiness maybe we can get RRE over by him!

We already have policies about vendors taking pot shots at each other and they are warned as usual, the forum is big, there's lots of people and posts so a lot of people, including vendors don't usually read the policies necessarily.

It takes time for us to "police" the site, we aren't robots that sit on the site 24 hours a day and "police" it according to how YOU like it.

I hope not!!!! is a bitch to be anywhere near Mueller's shop... The drive itself to some of us is near 1hr+ and forget about it to try to make it back home in a descent time due to the rush hour traffic that area sees...
