Hey Im not knocking anything but I have yet to see a single turbo produce enough power on pump gas to warrant a turbo purchase...

I make a lil over 360 on 91 on the stock turbo..

I dont have a
widemouth
pump
injectors

Even Mike with the 3076 on pump wasnt making shit..

Im still trying to figure this out..

The 91 octane is limiting the peak boost you can run, so even the bigger turbos don't make a ton more peak power than the stock turbo. Check out the power difference at 7400 or 8000 rpms though.

I saw Mikes 3076 dyno. It was making ~410whp on his dyno, corrected. The same car with the stock turbo was making ~320whp at 7400rpms, IIRC. If you extended the stock turbo out to 8k rpms, it'd probably only make 300whp. So roughly a 100whp gain on pump gas at 7500-8000 rpms. Toss in some meth and see those numbers really go up.

i base the big turbo cars off a road racing type of tune. Flat predictable torque and the ability to keep the clutch in the car.
I could have run a shitton more boost in the midrange and increased cyl pressures and temps, instead i chose to stay flat and
keep the car a bit cooler internally so that its not really hot by 7k where the car makes real power !!

Correct 91 sucks, now that i have my Dual Bosch 044's i can put in the new 2000cc Inj and run 33+ psi
see what a red can really do in an X!!

Ok see shit like that does us no good. Where the real investment with us is made is in moderate mods everyone can afford. I know I make 360 and change and I am sure there isnt a 50 HP difference between yours and mikes. I made 318 on mikes and made 310 on a dynojet from valvoline... Im in search of huge gains with EXCELLENT Curve.

What are you trying to say? You do know the saying, 'gotta pay to play' right? If it were cheap, everyone would be doing it.

Define huge gains and excellent curve. Is an excellent curve a lot of torque down low? Or is it a lot of torque up high? You want both? Well, then you gotta pay to play.

What do you consider a huge gain? The 3076 has a max gain of ~100whp over the stock turbo on 91 oct on the same car at ~8k rpms. Toss in some meth and that gain is going to get bigger. HB is showing ~80whp on his dyno with the Dom 2.

Ok first I am a subscriber of the pay to play so we can stop the nonsense right there. Next tunes are subjective. I am a firm believer in SOLID tunes that can be used anywhere. Curve is a broad powerband with a low torque without the loss of a firm upper end. Ive seen may 3076 on Evo Xs and non on 91 have made me think the cost is worth it. Can your 3076 as is go run SOW at 110 degrees with 0 issues and still make huge numbers. Im just in the search of the perfect combination and I havent found it yet. THats what I am saying.

I think that at this point with the X... there are too many choices with upgrades... E85 vs Turbo upgrade is where I am at now.. maybe both .. I am so conflicted..

ive done meth and stock turbo
made 378, and had to run 30 psi peak, which i dont like.

This car makes a nice flat torque curve, at a lower boost setting and way more HP where you would be racing a car 4000+ rpm
if this car had meth i would expect to see 450+whp and almost 400 Tq :-p

the turbo also spools like stock on the road, it is hard to notice.
The Garrett 30r suck balls.... this turbo is far better and cheaper!!

Please define similar mods and please show the boost log comparison. Without either this graph means nothing more than the Dominator spools about 1k slower than stock and as usual with a larger turbo, makes it up up top (Assuming boost is the same or less???).

Real comparative data please

Not trying to debate as the peak WHP is very nice and the ability to hold torque is also fantastic. I am however wondering how valid it is to compare "data" when crucial data is missing. The shop does a decent job of providing information that assists the community in determining the direction that each individual person may want to go with their setup depending on their needs so I am just asking for everything to assist in making those decisions.

I think Bryan at GST does the best job of it and its a nice bar to set for the rest.

If it can't be provided, no worries, but it nullifies the validity of the comparison to a significant degree since how spool "feels" means very little to most people

No hating, just hoping :)
