hi,
i was wondering if any one remove the resonator from stock exhaust system?
i can't get an exhaust and want to have a louder exhaust sound so i was wondering if any one did that.

Ive seen a few people try it... All it does is makes it sound more like a vacuum cleaner than a car...

hfc wasn't that loud, tsetpipe is louder since it is straight piping..
hfc = no stinky air :D

just buy my exhaust...you get a catback and a test pipe for 150!!

If you want louder and cheap and good flow, make an axle back straight pipe. The stock muffler os so convoluted inside it is silly. To hear what it would sound like, just unbolt your muffler and have a listen. Take it to a cheapo muffler shop and see how much it would be. I dont think you;ll get satisfaction taking out a resonator.

I also have a cheap used EVO X catback that is on the rowdy side.

My friend took out his resonator, now his car just sounds like honda...
and it now backfires for some reason...

plus, if you get a loud exhaust then you gotta start looking out for the police. I just went to court for loud exhaust. It was a waste of time and money... do you want a loud exhaust only? Or are you looking to make more power as well?

i don't want "loud", but i just want a little bit louder than stock, and i can't let my parents to see the exhaust has change.
maybe i will go for HFC, any recomment?

Our sideways stealth exhaust for the X, we can put the stock tips on it. It idles fairly close to stock.

HFCs are not legal in Cali so you wont find them on our website. We can and do make all kinds of custom stuff.

Stealth works against the Police and also against the Parents :-) You can do all kinds of safe power mods and stay under the radar of both.

well anyways.. getting a HFC or a resonated test pipe will make the car louder. and make more power too at that, but ive never had HFC so i don't know how much louder it is than stock..
but yeah, RREs HFC is good. so is MIL.SPEC they have a 100 cell cat.. PM them about it if you are trying to make more power.

HFC is your best bet..... get one from Mike.

Don't chop up that stock exhaust and try to remove the resonator. \:Â* Kinda sketchy. :X
