Hello everyone, I tried searching the forums for some input on this and wanted to get some input. Here is the story, my buddy has been nagging me for over a year to go with him to an 1/8th mile drag strip in Mexicali BC, which is about 30 minutes from my house. He rolls in a tuned 335i 4 dr running meth and bolt on's. I have always passed on going because I have always felt that the Evo isn't really a drag car but a road race car. I have Sollo II'd Evos in the past but not in this one. I was hoping to take it to Streets or Willows and get some instruction and have fun. BUT my bud here insists on me going with him to the drag races. So IF and I say IF I go what are some tips? I am curious about tire pressure, ACD settings, ect. My car does have a new (1000 miles on it) ACT HD SS Clutch, a Shep Trans Stage II Built Transfer case with the REM/ISF Treatments, im running 255/40/17 Direzza Star Specs with air pressure set at 35f 32r, and my 2 step is set at 5500. So what do you guys and gals think? This is my DD and I don't really drag race, but would be nice to go to shut up my friend. He has been running 8.2's in his 335. I think my car is capable of beating that. Its up in the air, what do you guys/gals think?

go shut him up 8.2s arent very fast. most important is ur 60 ft as long as u know how to launch ur evo n cut 1.7 60s u'll be ok. raise ur 2 step to like 6000-6500 rpm. good luck

Hey Jeff!

Your car should run a 7.9 on pump gas with your mods. Like the man above said, 1.6-1.7 60 ft should net awesome ETs as long as everything else is good. Dont worry to much about the RT too much.

My Recommendations for Drag Racing settings:
ACD on Tarmac
2-Step between 5500-5700 RPMs
Tire Pressure @ 25lbs starting....20lbs is need be

and most importantly AVOID WHEEL HOP AT ALL COST....this is what destroys the drive train and not so much the launching it self.

yeah I have never drag raced so I am sure my 60ft times wont be the greatest. Â*Like anything takes practice. Â*

Your next car you want a C6 Corvette Z06? Â*I have driven my friends, I like the Evo Better personally. Â*My other Friend though has a C6 50th anniversary addition that is completely built with over 600hp and is his DD. Â*I liked it but the traction is like nill even with big all wide BFG's on the rear...just too squirmy for me. Â*But Corvettes are just in a league all their own. Â*O0

7.4 @ 94 with the FP Green on MS109 back March 2008
7.5 @ 93 with the 35R on pump gas

That 35r would beat the greens times in a 1/4 mile I would imagine. Especially with your tuning skills. The Green is a good all around turbo though isn't it? Maybe better suited for a DD more than the Red with he 80mm housing?

I think the BBK Full is a well rounded DD turbo....The Red is a little laggy for DD use IMO but best power output (so far) for a stock frame turbo.
