I will have to dig up some pics of my 97 2g GST. First Turbo Car I ever owned. I raced a 95 Mustang GT Once in it haha. Out in the middle of the dessrt on an abandoned road. He could never pass me, After that I started tinkering on it got it around 300hp then my wife and I had a baby and I traded it in for a Montero Sport. The Irony here is I later Traded in the Montero Sport for an 03 Evo 8 haha. Nice pics I will try and post some too O0

I owned a 94 Talon Tsi awd several years ago. Loved that car. I upgraded it to a small 16G turbo, 264 HKS cams, HKS VPC/GCC, adapted a HKS intercooler from a MK 3 Supra, and swapped in some 8.5 pistons from a 2nd gen 4G63. I used that car to experiment with my Aquamist water injection. I later used that same water injection kit on my Evo. I would have kept it and rebuilt the engine with a stroker motor but the fact that it had no real back seat for more passengers made me give it up. I really do miss that car. Wish I had taken more pics of my Talon. Here's some pics that I found on my computer.

Yes sir. My engine blew a headgasket or bent valves. Timing jumped half a tooth and now my compression is 40, 40, 50, 40.

HMatt
11-11-2009, 08:14 PM
Half a tooth, you should be fine... just dont try to crank it or anything. And pull the head... oh... and grind that friggin hyudai off your valve cover! That's just embarassing! hahahaha!

Boost_Addict_88

I think I just blew headgasket (I hope), but there doesn't seem to be coolant/oil mixed, although car started running crappy when radiator took a crap, even though car never overheated.

I love my Hyundai vc. Its one of reasons I put it on lol. "Early model Hyundai, not all but some made, once carried 4G63's in tha bay"

HMatt
11-13-2009, 11:00 AM
^you would be surprised what these things do when the headgasket blows... usually just loss of compression and/or massive oil leak. The fluids usually don't leak.

I dropped my baby off at corporate last Friday and loaded her into the Design Center. It's pretty bad ass. This is where they used to create life sized clay mock ups of the cars and tweak the final designs by hand. I snapped a few cell phone pix which suck.

I'm stopping back next week to swap out some custom seats I'm having made, so I'll get some better pix then.

Corporate = Mitsubishi Corporate. It's going to be used as a display between their design center and the main floor of the lobby.
I don't know what they are going to do with it for MOD. I'm putting my new seats in it this week. I re-skinned a set of evo seats in gray leather for it.

I finally completed an evo seat swap on the my car. I had started this project a while ago with a set of WEAPON-R seat brackets, but the fitment was poor with only 3 out of 4 base mounts fitting properly. I scrubbed the project temporarily favoring a set of limited edition RECARO ASM TS-G and a set of Wedge Engineering brackets.

The Wedge brackets fit very well (though seat you slightly higher then the Weapon Rs so I continued to use these when I finished my evo conversion. I had to customize the brackets slightly, adding another plate on the top of the bracket where the sliders from the OEM evo seats bolted on. I partially drilled two extra holes on the top of the bracket where the sliders have a rivet so that they fit snugly (sorry no pix of that, but it's fairly obvious where you need it when you're mounting the seats).

Initially, I was going to use a set of evo 9 seats I had laying around, but I finally opted for the use of an old evo 8 seat from my 05 and a thrashed seat out of an 03. I took them to a local upholstery shop who re-skinned them in matching leather. For anyone with an older gray car, you'll find there are several different colors of gray in the car including the dash, 2 grays/textures on the seats, the doors and plastic on the doors. I finally settled on something that was pretty close.

The car was on display in Cypress CA at MOD. Mitsubishi North America currently shows the car in their Design Center and presently in the main lobby of the corporate office next to some other sexy DSMs.

Pix are off my cell phone. Sorry for the low quality. :ohdamn:

Inside the Design Center
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk252/BlazeGT4/GSX/36dc3b74.jpg

I had the choice of keeping the back black, or paint/staining it gray. I opted to leave it black to accent other parts of the dash.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk252/BlazeGT4/GSX/5a477b97.jpg

Side View: They sit a little lower then OEM. But the nice thing is that the base of the seat doesn't gouge your back when you recline it.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk252/BlazeGT4/GSX/ef2a674a.jpg

I need to replace my steering wheel with either an evo9 or perhaps the TME OMP wheel I found. I'll probably do the evo wheel since it fits better with the interior and I don't lose the airbag.

I got the seats done at a place in San Bernardino called:
Wanda's Upholstry
2324 Cabrera Avenue
San Bernardino 92411
909.887.6434

It is extremely rare that I ever recommend someone or a shop. But this shop was outstnding for a number of reasons.
- It's clean. Everything is dust free and in it's place.
- Wanda (who is a black dude who looks like Morgan Freeman) is extremely easy to communicate with. He knows his trade and has many connections to get the quality and style of materials you need.
- He can think outside of the box when it comes to custom requests
- The work speaks for itself

Come find me this year at MOD and I'll open it up for you. The quality is just....factory perfect. I'm really impressed.
