Ipod in Evo

I want to be able to hook up my ipod touch in my evo. I will be getting a stereo system in the next month and it will have an mp3 jack. What kind of cable do I need to hook an ipod into a stereo or am I missing something?

Just have whoever installs your system run the ipod connection cord into your glovebox, thats what i did.

you do realize you can do it with your stock radio. And its oem from mitsu

depending on the radio... you might need the AUX cable... or the ipod Connection cable that can be added to your headunit. Myself and quite a few others have the ipod cable ran to the glove box which is where my ipod sits.

How do you do it with a stock stereo head? I also don't want the ipod in the glove box because then I cant mess with it when I'm driving.

my head unit controls the ipod so glove box is where it stays

Oh...so you can control the ipod by the head unit? I like that but if I want to keep my ipod with me, do I have to let it reboot every song back onto the head unit when I unplug and then plug it back in?

Put it in the glove box but keep the wire long enough for u to mess around with it even tho ur radio should control it....

No I meant like places other than inside my car. Like at school. When I unplug it and then plug it back in, will it have to reupload the songs to the head unit or will it be set to go and what not? I know its a confusing question, its hard to word right. haha

When I plugin my iPhone and play a song and unplug and come back later it usualy plays same song and no u don't have to upload or anything like that..

Buy a head unit that controls everything. I'm the kind of person who likes to see the track, artist and album name on the head unit.

So if I get a new head unit, do I need to replace the speakers as well so they don't blow out at a higher wattage or will they last and sound better?

I have a high power head unit with factory speakers and it sounds great. Better speakers will make a difference but the factory speakers will hold up fine.

i have one of the newer pioneer head units, i can connect my iphone one of three ways

1. Aux
2. USB
3. Bluetooth

i prefer bluetooth because:
1. there is no wires
2. when i get in its automatically connected
3. for some reason it sounds better than aux and usb

another cool thing about bluetooth, is that you can sync your phone to it and it reverts all your calls to the speakers it also imports your contacts so it says who is calling
