I was hoping someone could help shed some light on removing your tail lights on an X. I was trying to work on this tonight and was for some reason having a hard time. I know there has been quite a few Xs that have put on ralliart tail lights. Does anyone maybe have any pics from when they swapped them out?

Thanks

Thanks for the share. To elaborate it more.

1 Turn off your car and make sure your head lights are turned off as well so that no power is being sent to the tail lights.

2 Open your trunk to gain access to the back of the door or wall where your tail lights are located.

3 Remove any paneling necessary to gain access to the backside of your tail lights. Most paneling comes off with pressure or a few screws.

4 Pull out the taillight lenses (http://www.jcwhitney.com/taillight-lenses/c3029j1s17.jcwx) and wires from the tail light housings.

5 Unscrew or unbolt the tail lights from the car. They are usually held on with only a few nuts.

6 Replace the old tail light with the new one by pulling from the outside of the car to remove the old one, then simply putting the new one in its place.

7
Secure the new housing with the nuts, bolts or screws used to hold the old one.

8 Reattach the bulbs and wires to the new tail light housing.

9 Put the paneling you removed to access the tail light back in place and shut the trunk.

10 Test your tail lights to be sure they are still working after installing the new ones.
