Pick one of those. Amazing intercoolers! :)

Everyone is going to vouch for what they currently have. But has any changed from different brands n felt different gains or losses. I'm sure everyone listed above is a great intercooler

I have an 8 so my comparison probably doesn't count. I ran a 3 inch ETS IC and made decent power...didn't heat soak. I parted out the car and when I picked up a new IC I went w/ a 3.7 inch AGP FMIC. I'm making good power and have zero complaints. Both were heavy as hell but both did the job. I know the SRT 4 guys run them and love them, AGP IC's that is.

well, just my .02, ive dealt with AGP when i was building my SRT and now building my evo.

i have there IC and piping for my 9 and it was a great purchase. fit and finish is second to none. quick shipping and a very fair price. plus great customer service.

and we just installed AGP IC piping and ic on my friends X today and same thing, great fitment, great quality, and just takin it for a cruise it feels much more responsive and a harder pull.

so basically, im not saying to get one or the other, im just saying you will not be disappointed with AGP's products.

AMS bud, they make quality parts, and have excellent customer service. With their current FMIC they have cars running in the 700+ range...

osolokes213

if you're gettin all that, then get tuned...as for the test pipe, depends if you're willing to risk it with the 5-0..

honestly test pipe you only have to worry about if you backfire and a cop sees. more than likely you can drive forever and never get pulled over for not having a cat unless they ref ticket you....

as far as living in nyc.. check evom or evoxforums and check for tuners. im sure theyll give you a good deal... the more mods you get the higher recommended a tune will be... itll be better for performance and help your air fuel ratio if you do go test pipe.

im untuned and i backfire a lot and run super rich.... proly not the best idea... up 2 u.

a bit of feed back on some products made for the VIII/IX Even though this thread is X related... is always feed back though
Have had in the past
Nisei street and competition (good for big turbo big motor set up) if you have a stock turbo, IMO stay away from it
Had buschur in the past, not too thrill with some of their products... Well this was a couple of years ago so things might be different i take
had AVO FMIC ran great , looks great, price tag not soo great XP
I'm currently running an ETS 3" on my Green...
ETS works perfect with what i have and once i decide to go with my 2.2l I will be upgrading to an ETS 3.5"
ETS makes great products at the right price...Â* O0

You might also want to consider the size of the intercooler and your future mods. To big might not be good or to small and you might have to buy a bigger one later. And make sure you are comparing apples to apples, the ETS 3" is $500, the ETS 3.5" is $600, the AGP is a 3.5" at $525(right now), and the AMS is a 3.5" at $700 but is alittle bigger then the AGP and ETS 3.5". And don't forget about the Perrin I've heard really good things about it as well, and as it's bigger then the others its also more expensive.

yeah 3"-4" is talking about the depth of intercooler right? in that case AGP is a pretty good deal~
what i think is, if not getting bigger turbo, 3.5" is not really useful right?

and also i have UICP, so when i get the intercooler, should i get the LICP too? how much does it help? thanks

As far as needing the LICP too. It depends on who you ask most tuners tell me(from dyno numbers) that it doesn't help at all or only very little because it's the cold side piping. There was one that recomended that I run as much hard piping as I could but couldn't give me any numbers. So I'm not going to run a LICP at this time.
