Im trying to do my 30k service and was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the serpentine belt on an 08 Evo X? is it the same as the VIII and IX where you just use a ratchet and a screw driver to loosen up the pulley or is it different? thanks for the input guys O0

Im not home but there should be a tensioner that you loosen up to release the pressure. Here is a tip... measure the deflection on the belt to know how much to tighten it back.

See if this makes sense....

Take a ruler and place it on the engine somewhere where the belt passes. Then measure the deflection on the belt when you push on it and reference it to the ruler...

Thanks do you know if i have to remove the pulley to lose tension or is it like the IX where you just kinda pull the whole pulley with a socket wrench and pull the tension off of it.

You do not have to remove the pulley. It is a tension type pulley, you just use a 5/8's and swing the pulley to loosen the belt.
