Thought everyone would enjoy a sneak peak at what we had in the Tomei booth at the recent Hyper Meeting held in Japan this month.

If you can keep the wastegate flappers from falling off for guys that run open track days you'll have a winner! Time will tell.

Seen two reds on track day car that the turbine housings were all cracked out from the heat. The small exhaust housing holds back so much heat and it all being wrapped in a bankie just gets it all mol;ten hot. One car had the exhaust manifold all cracked too. One year and 5 track days. :-( Not exactly FP's fault, just a limitation of the stock parts.

Then the Garretts (being a whole new replacement turbo) are having problems with the wastegate flappers on tracked cars (road course, not drag queens). When you are under mad boost for straightaways at a time for 20 - 40 minutes... the wastegate flapper disc is just hanging out in the fire and not able to transfer heat to the exhaust housing. They were falling off :-P

If Tomei has access to some tricky materials or attachment method that Garrett dont, then good for you. I currently dont have a X turbo that I can recomend to a daily driven weekend road course customer. Looking for one!

Get one on a So Cal tracked car ASAP. Not a show queen.

Yeah Im hoping someone comes up with something cause I am utterly disappointed in whats on the market that isnt holding out. If Im paying 1700 dollars for a turbo that shit needs to last longer than a half dozen track days. Looks like I am styong stock turbo for a while.
