I have about a 1inch crack in length on my roof, starts at the sunroof and slightly curves out. I'm looking for a cheap fix since i can't afford getting it profesionaly done. I'm pretty handy, just need some advice.

So far, my plan was to do light sanding around and including the cut/crack, maybe use some sorta of fiberglass or little bondo to fill it in, sand, paint and seal with some sorta of sealer? Anyone with any advice on what to do to prevent this from getting ugly?

ya i seen someone post that on a website, they ref'd to it as "ghetto way" lol. How bad and/or good would it be? What are some negatives? Im guessing vinyl would stop any sort of water going through providing some sort of protection, so it should be an inexpensive fix. Is there any negatives to doing this?

If it cracks too much more... it could tear the vinyl...

And I would sand and paint it before you put the vinyl on. Just to keep it from rusting from the inside.

Better figure out WHY is cracked to begin with, otherwise it might get bigger/longer!

you think im serious? haha

but on the other hand...the black and red stuff comes in pretty handy sometimes. when i had drilled holes for my auto power cage in the floor boards then took the cage out i had holes everywhere lol so i used that stuff to cover the holes and never had any water come threw in the rain..

cheapest solution would have been to not get the sunroof option. no hole in the roof = no chances for cracks around it. :D
