How many miles has anyone gotten out of they shep/TRE/etc transmissions? I have over 25k and probably going to have it sent to rebuild. Thanks.

I've been running mine for about 55k miles and change the drivetrain fluids every 10-15k miles :)

I don't see a reason to rebuild unless its grinding or having some issues IMHO

But mileage alone has nothing to do with how it was used/babied/abused/torque.... no?

Mike...thanks for the input I didn't even think about how much abuse my tranny has gone through. It's seen over 80 dragstrip launches. Maybe I should have asked who drags or road race their trannys and how often the rebuilds happen.

I have two friends who have done a couple hundred launches on OEM transmissions(1 5spd and one mr 6spd)with no issues

edit: here's an article on the guy with the 5spd

http://www.automedia.com/Custom-Built_Steet-Strip_2006_Mitsubishi_Evolution_9/pht20100701lg/1

look under the chevy ad and it says this:

"Hammered since new (essentially broken in at the drag strip), Dustin Fleet’s Lamborghreeni Evolution has made about 500 passes down the strip, and about 1000 launches"

That's an insane amount of launches wow. I've had this trans for as long as i've had the 35r...and it does concern me a bit, but after reading some of the stats and results yall have posted I feel alittle bit reassured.

the guy in the article has gone through a couple stock turbo's, a 50 trim and now he's running an hta86 so I'm sure you're fine

Devin, it's easily been 300+ launches and I'm 200 miles away from 70,000 on the original OEM clutch. It has zero slip, hopefully I'll make it past 100k. It's never had more than 330-340 torque on a dynojet, limiter set @ 5800rpm, and many of the launches were at slippery Qualcomm. I haven't launched it in well over a year and I'm pretty sure I'm done for a while. Dustin will launch till he dies.
