I have only used the NT-01 on my old Evo and my Shelby COBRA and those tires are pretty magical. I also once tried the Yokohama Advan A048 which is the R-Comp they use on the HKS Evo and are factory issue on cars like the Lotus Exige S. I ran the A048 Yoko's on my Evo and I can tell you that those tires are not worth what they cost. Out of the A048 and the NT-01 the Nitto was the winer in my book.

I have a set of Toyo R888's right now sitting in my living room waiting for wheels. The Toyo's will be going on my Z and going to the track pretty soon. But I don't know if I will be able to judge these Toyo's Vs the Nittos properly since they won't be going on the same car.

I can tell you that the Nitto worked as well on my Shelby as they did on my Evo. And for the price they are one tough tire and live pretty long. They are a hard tire to beat for the money. If Nitto made the NT-01 in the sizing my Z needs I would have bought a set of these instead of getting the Toyo's.

Sorry, I forgot.. I also had a Miata that had the Toyo RA-1's. That's a really good tire also but I felt they weren't as sticky as the NT-01. What I did notice about the RA-1 is that the tire showed very minimal wear for the amount of miles I put in them. I drove that car everywhere with those tires and they had tread for days. But this could also be due to the light weight of the Miata.

The RA-1 was also much better than the NT-01 in the rain. I could drive the RA-1 at 65 with no problem in the rain. The NT-01 even at full tread would hydro plain at speeds as low as 45mph at times.

The RA-1 is more expensive than a NT-01 in the same sizing.

RA-1Â* old stuff, you have some street tires this day that would run better than RA-1.

toyo R888 and Nitto NT01 is pretty close to each other, except i find the R888 is a little more consistence.Â* Â*On the other hand the Nitto Nt01 have better steering response.

Also You are right about the Ra-1 being a better rain tires than the NT01, but the R888 have better rain patterns than both of them.Â* The funny thing is that the same people make Toyo tires they also make Nitto tiresÂ* ;)

I love the NT-01 for the price and it's every linear feel.
Also everyone has them in stock.

Just which out for people trying to sell you new old stock. Check the DOT date stamp.
