Now that I know a E85 station is very close by I will run my car with it. ^ hey what's the MPG's with E85?

I thought E85 will give you worse milage than you're getting now! LOL

^ it does but it gives me more HP and it's cheaper then 91octane.

Gas mileage? What's that?

BIGST1ER
02-03-2011, 12:12 AM
^^ does that mean you get 12 MPG's?

Azian

Yeah I get about that doing city driving.........probably more like 14mpg.

BIGST1ER

So highway like around 16 or so.

Just multiply your 91 mileage by .7 and that's your approximate E85 mileage

Your setup and driving habits will all be different, but the fact that E85 burns about 30% faster will not be

^Would you mind sharing your MPG's?

Its different on my IX than my X.

On my IX 22-23 mpg on 91 and 16 mpg on E85
On my X 18 - 19 mpg on 91 and 13 mpg on E85

Oh ok. That's not that bad for your IX. I'm assuming you don't boost for those 16MPG's right?

GraphiteG37S

That's a noticeable difference between your IX and your X.... are you running more aggressive aftermarket part and tune on the X as opposed to the IX? Or do the Evo X commonly drink more gasoline than the Evo IX?

BIGST1ER

^ I think the X normally eats more gas then the IX.

Azian

With very minimal boosting and mostly highway driving I could get around 20-22mpg. And with mostly city driving and occasional boosting I get 12-14mpg.

Thanks Azian!!! I'm going E85!! Just need a turbo.

Azian
02-03-2011, 01:01 AM
Stock IX turbo makes plenty of power for the street :) anything over 400-420whp is just ridiculous and uncontrollable.

BIGST1ER
02-03-2011, 01:04 AM
I have an VIII turbo though would that run okay on E85 for now till I get a IX turbo?

Azian
02-03-2011, 01:15 AM
Yeah I'm sure with right supporting mods you will hit 380-400whp(dynojet) on E85 with the stock 8 turbo(as long as you have 05 turbo :2funny:)
