Just had my clutch worked on and fluid changed from the transfer case and transmission however now i'm getting a leak. Still not sure where it is coming from, is it possible that i can get a leak between the transmission and the transfer case?
Is it possible to overfill the transmission or transfer case? Could it be a seal? Is it from the spindle shaft that connects the two pieces together?

Has to be a seal

It could be either improper torque of the bolts connecting the transfer case to the transmission housing or it could be a bad seal on the transfer case. If its a bad seal, you'd best change it out as soon as possible as tranny fluid could be getting into the transfer case which will lead to a quick death for the transfer case.

there is a oring between on the t-case and tranny.

We had one Evo come in for a clutch job and when we took it apart, there was no o-ring seal. Instead of an O-ring, it was filled with gasket maker! Obviously that didn't work.

what does that little hole for that small oil ring do? why is it open to and from the transmission?

Done! :)
I just flushed the transfercase fluid a few days ago, and notice that it was not leaking anymore, however i found there was a pool of fluid on the top of the transfer case towards the left side of that white looking thing.Â* What is the purpose of that?Â* Is it possible somehow the shop that originally did my clutch spilled some diaqueen where the crevice is?Â* I still have to clean it up to be sure.

HI i have a a 2006 IX and im leaking fluid from my transfer case ive been told its a seal. And a rattling noise that sounds like my throw bearing is jacked.
i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shop in the la area or with in towing distance that can fix it. the dealer quoted me at like 9 grand but i don't believe that.

I had my TC replaced @ 13k because of a faulty seal from trans to TC. 2010 X GSR. @21k looks good so far.

From what I have learned recently from dealing with the transmission and transfer case, that white plastic piece on the top is a breather...prevents overfill/overpressure of the t-case.
