i want to swap my 5-speed for a 6-speed and need to make sure i know all the parts i need to swap out, heres what i think i need, both tranny mounts, shifter, shifter bracket, and the harness for the sensors. i have heard that i need the center console as well but i was also told that i don't so if someone can let me know if i am leaving something out and if i need the center console i would appreciate it. thanks.

you need just the tranny mount, center console, shifter, shifter base, link cage, link cage cables. harness.

so the center console is a for sure part needed on a 5 to 6 speed swap? thanks for the input

I have 20,000 mile six speed in great working condition if you want to trade. Let me know if you are interested.

There should be a bunch of guys with MRs dying to get rid of their 6 speed trannys :-P Find one and trade him straight across for all the stuff for the swap!

just curious as to why you want to make this swap? Not trying to get OT here just interested in the logic behind your project.

I have the 6-speed in mine. Ive dealt with the relization that it cannot handle all of what I want to do with the car. I'm waiting on the list for Shep's 6-speed rebuild. It's gonna be a long wait.

How much power can the 6Speed trans. on the EVO VIII take? I am hearing mixed things that it breaks after a certain amount of power hits it.

around 400tq seems to be the limit.
