larger tire sizes for OEM Evo X rims

The OEM tire size for the Evo X is 245/40/18. What tire sizes work if i want to go slightly wider and maintain the same overall tire diameter so i don't screw with the odometer readings.

How about 255/35/18 on OEM Evo X rims. Anyone notice the sidewall is too soft on these slightly wider tires?

Go 595 R federal 255/18

or maybe try 265/35/18 tires. that might work too.

The federal 595r are quite large for te tire specs it indicates to be. Is equivalent to a 265 or even near a 275.
On the 255/17 those tires are about the same size of my 275 nt05

Federal's look very enticing, but looking for something with treadware which will last a tad longer. I'm very temped to go back to the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs i had on my old car.

Treadwear?? For what the cost on the federals r, it makes the tire even better!!
N stop being cheap simon, kinda defeats the purpose of a wider tire when u want a treadwear rating higher then what u currently have.
