Bought evo x wheels that were powder coated gold. I want to remove the gold and powder coat a black or other havent decided yet..

At my work i have access to a sandblaster and the different grits/sizes of sand.

My question is can the Evo X wheels take some heavy sand blasting or would i risk damaging them and would need to use a finer grit?

Thanks in advance,
zeRep

with hevy grit you'll end up leaving some marks on the rims... you have to use a fine grit but it all depends on what grit we're talking about...

Test it on some alluminum to get an idea on what might happen with the rim's surface after sandblasting with your grit...

Use walnuts if u have access... It should get the paint off without damaging the wheels

have you asked the powdercoat company if they can remove it for you? might be better and easier.
