View Full Version : How To: Fix star crack on windshield

not going to describe what to do here... think of it as building something with legos and only having pictures... i'll answer any questions though

product i used was the permatex windshield repair kit...
i am in no way shape or form some windshield aficianado
of course thare are better ways to fix this... but this is my 12 dollar fix... and these are my results...


it took away like 90% of the crack and sealed it... did more than enough to make me feel better and not so pissed off over what happened...

That's way awesome man! I literally have (what looks like) the same exact star crack in almost the same exact spot (right in my line of sight) and I've been wondering if these kits actually work. Now I know. Much appreciated!

It leaves a noticeable spec on the windshield but for $12 it stops it from spider webbing all the way across. Â*Great deal/tradeoff IMHO!

Better to fix this sooner than later. Otherwise you're gonna have a big crack down your windshield within a few days.

did you shine ultraviolet light to hardened the resin injected into the crack?

i just parked my car out in the sun for an hour
