im looking to buy an evo and the owner said the car has an RRE 3200LBS clutch.

Is that an ACT clutch or something RRE makes?

Just looking for some info.

Thank you in advance

It's a "no name" ACT clutch.

and do these normally come with a flywheel or is that an upgrade? could just the clutch be purchased?

RRE sells the clutch kit: pressure plate, disc, and throw out bearing.Â* A flywheel is separate and they also offer a "no name" lightened flywheel (using it on my personal vehicle).Â* They usually offer individual replacement components but you should call them directly and ask if thats what you're looking for.

RRE's No-Name Clutch is an unpainted ACT clutch. The clutch could have been purchased with or without a flywheel.

The flywheel is the least of your concerns with the car. lol

FYI...The clutch pedal will be pretty heavy

It's more about torque than power.Â* Off the top of my head about 530-560 lb-ft. :?

I have this set up. The owner would know the secret name for it if he has bought it in like the last 5 years. RRE was calling it the gold Toof Krazy Boyee or some sort. I got my car at 46k. The same clutch with the 3200 overkill set up was put on at 28k. I am pushing 80k now almost 3 years later at 320hp with track time and tons of other stupid high speed antics (like having to show each one of your friends individually how fast your car is for some reason or they will keep bugging you forever...) and this clutch has given me 0 headaches or indication of death. If you have the lightened flywheel as I do, it might rattle a bit at idle and also during deceleration like any other performance clutch set up. If I drop down into 3rd at 3500k or above it makes a pissed off noise but nothing has gone wrong in 3 years, so I figure at my power the clutch is pretty indestructible like all other RRE products have proven to be in my EVO, which is daily driven hard.

However, the main reason I am responding to this is to tell you to make the owner of the car meet you at the closest EVO specialist on this forum for a presale inspection!! If you are near RRE, I have seen these guys do a presale and it is worth its weight in gold. I literally watched them save a guy from buying a car that looked perfect but there was something seriously wrong in the engine that had no outward signs. GET A PRESALE INSPECTION!! Even with my presale inspection, there were still gremlins that came with buying a used EVO that was modded and put back to stock.

GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for the info, yeah i agree, ive asked a ton of questions and the motor has never been opened up etc. It seems like everyone mods the car, puts it back to stock and sells it as a "stock evo"
