This car was previously tuned by Scot Gray but was brought to me during my first San Diego trip because of a lean issue the owner was experiencing.Â* At exactly 6000 RPM the car would start running lean no matter what the boost level was tapered too.Â* There was also an odd front o2 voltage issue i noticed.Â* I was able to tune this car 2 months ago and make more torque with a different boost profile but i was unable to complete solve the issue.Â* Fast forward to two days ago i recieved a call from the owner stating he rewired the front o2 which was being powered from the ZT-2 he had and was not running off of ECU voltage again.Â* Upon our first dyno pull the front o2 voltage was where it should have been however there was still the lean issue.Â* Pull after pull i added fuel just as i did 2 months ago even to the point of maxing out fuel in the ROM... nothing worked.Â* Injector duty cycles were not maxing out which also threw me off.Â* After thinking about it for a few moments i decided to have the the "300 lph" deatchwerks fuel pump swapped out for the walbro 255.Â* At 14.7 volts the DW pump is supposed to run @ 300lph but evos do not run that voltage contantly and especially at WOT.Â* After the fuel pump swap voila!Â* Fueling ran pig rich.Â* After cranking the boost up to 33psi holding 29 by redline were ended up with the above results.Â*

Another good day with my friends @ RRE.

One of our set of cams would be a great addition for a setup like this ;)

so whats your take on the 300lph fuel pump, capable but not functional ?

Plenty of info over on EvoM about that crappy pump buddy :)

Yes some have had the same problem but that was tied to pressure falling off due to leaking at pressures over a certain psi , that was fixed apparently..

I don't trust them anymore. After the injectors that kept failing on the X's and then the problem with their pumps... Just go with a Bosch 044 or something and call it a day or get a dual walbro setup. Good luck.

It was a good concept but it just wasn't executed correctly. Evos and Subarus these days are doing far more than people once thought capable. It's disappointing to see but this was only one bad experience I've had with the pump. If it happens again i'll be sure to make a deal about it myself. I'm curious to see the aeromotive in tank pump in action as well.

Apparently a rewire is required to make it work they way they claim it does, which doesn't make sense. If you need to do any extra work thats not really a drop in solution...(so disappointment strikes DW lol)

Exactly. I spoke with Robert at RRE about it after i was done that day. It's not a full drop in solution if the pump requires full voltage to even half work. It is what it is. As long as people know beforehand that's all that matters.

Yea a few people are finding that out over on EvoM, seems like a great option just shouldn't be marketed as a drop in. Anyway Im still a fan of the BR double pump, now thats drop in ;)

dang! i have almost the exact same set up, minus the built 2.0, and you made 60hp more than me on the same dyno. very nice
