On Downshift I hear a loud squeek

Hey all,

I have a 2003 Evo8 with 80k miles on it. Basically stock with exhaust at the moment. I have been noticing that if I don't rev match on downshifts I hear a decently loud squeek as engage the next gear. If I rev match it never makes the noise though. I rev match 90% of the time anyways so it doesn't bother me too bad, but was just curious if anyone knows why?

Ya I think it is a bit louder at higher RPM's. I guess its nice to know that someone else is having the same problem though ;)
