Im looking for some new thread for my stock 2011 X GSR. I definitely need something I can get some miles out of since it's my daily driver. The stock advan's are toast I got about 12500 miles out of them. I don't track it but every now and then I like to hit the canyons for a drive. Id appreciate any help thanks

Hankook V12 evo's are decent :) or Dunlop direzza DZ101's.

How big is your budget? if you can afford them, the Advan Neova Ad08 is probably one of the best tires you could get. They should last slightly longer than the OE Advans, and the grip levels are amazing.

If you're looking more for a dd tire Azian's recommendations are good. Also check out the S.Drive from Yokohama =)

I've had the Evo 12's now for about 20,000 miles and they are lasting really well, the handling is 95 % of the stock tires in DD conditions and situations. Handle well in rain and seem well worth the $155 each I paid. At least half the tread left. Just rotate what ever you get every 5,000 miles and they will last longer.

Yea I got a really good deal on the V12's best DD tire I have had so far so I would recommend those.

I've been running Toyo R1R in a 255/35 and they are GREAT! So much more grip than the OE's O0

v12's are a little louder than stock, but great for dd and affordable.

The only problem i Would see by using the same brand of tire on a diff evo model or year would be the tire selection. All recommendations on the X's happen to be in the 18" diameter. If this is available on 17", it should apply to all Evo; specially for those that have the option to run 17" wheels on the previous models.

I went to Americas Tire. I was out the door for under $700. The tires were $144. Each plus mount balance and lifetime rotations.

Just realized you already bought tires...hey so I have since done some more research and I am actually thinking of getting the V12s now instead of the RS3s...what is your overrall impressions of these tires now that you have had them for like 5 months. I DD my car but plan on maybe 1-2 track days/year but like the longevity and quietness (when DDing -heard they scream under hard driving) of the V12s...lemme know your thoughts and if you recommend these tires after using them...planning on getting my tires this weekend (hopefully)... thanks in advance!

RSR are always back order and not so cheap as when the beginning.
Price has dramatically gone up...

Really? I couldn't even hear the EVO engine until I replaced the stock Yokos with the V12s. The road noise was horrible on the Yokos. I do miss their grip though.

Anyone here tried Michellin Pilot Super Sports (MPSS)? It was the best bang for the buck tires for my GTR, it lasted almost 4 track days compared to 2 track days on the stock dunlops.

He was looking for cheap tires not the gold standard, judging from your post and owning a GTR money isn't an option to you.

If the pilot sports still remain the same as a few years back, I rather take some Hankook tires anygiven day. HOwever if you're not on a budget, plenty of options out there aside Pilot Sports.

Of course money is a factor for me! I'm switching to EVO X because it's so much cheaper to track it. With the GTR, I was only able to go to 4 track days a year because of the cost of tires, brakes and maintence. And what's sad is that I'm running similar times as my EVO X.

MPSS is actually a really good deal because it lasts 50% longer than any other performance tires with better grip. I think they are like $225 per tires in 255/35/18.
