Ok, so I am sure you all know I have had a Mishimoto Alluminum Racing Radiator in my car now for a little over 2 years now and have had no problems with it and will not say anything bad about it, but I just recentlly picked up a new sponsor in Mizu who also makes Alluminum Racing Radiators. They gave me one to be the first Lancer with it and its the same exact one as the Evo X one.

tools -
pliers, screw driver, 10mm, 12mm, bucket for coolent, and extra coolent if needed....

first thing first, drain the old radiator and this was the one thing IÂ*didnt like about Mishimoto, the drain plug is a 24mm and the Mizu is much easier and tooless drain plug....

draining....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00481.jpg

after the radiator is drained take off all the plastic peices above the radiator and intake....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00480.jpg

then unplug the fans and disconnect the radiator hoses top and bottom, then un blot and take off the radiator support....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00482.jpg

lift and seperate ac condensor from radiator, then the radiator is ready to pull out and you pull it out with the fans attached....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00483.jpg

take fans off the old radiator and put it on the new Mizu and reinstall everything....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00492.jpg

so from the looks, both Mishimoto and Mizu look very similar.....
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Nemo420/DSC00487.jpg

they both fit really good, are light, and keep the engine running cooler.....
but I support those who support me and the industry by making great, affordable, realiable products, and are local. Mizu is located in Fountain Valley, CA. They are also making oil coolers, intercoolers, 3-layer hose kits, thermostats, fans and alluminum shrouds and for the motorcycle lovers, they are making radiators for bikes!!! Give Mizu some time and they will be one of the leaders if not thee leader in cooling systems. Not only is the company a good company, the guys that run it are very cool and good to work with. I highly recomend their products and services, check them out at www.mymizu.com

oh on another note, the Mizu looks better than the MishimotoÂ* :like:

The welds on the Mizu looks like any other cheap Chinese made aluminum radiator sold on ebay. I hope the price is reasonable and no more than $150.

Just comparing it to Koyo Racing Full Aluminum radiator.

Nice box and packaging.

I'm not trying to be a hater, but I have to agree that the welds on the Mizo really don 't compare to the quality of the Mishimoto. And the badge is on sideways WTF?

A before and after log of the water temps would be awesome!

the welds are just fine, they are all hand welded and made 100% Alluminum and not made in china like some of those radiators out there. These Radiators are made in Japan. NOT china! and as you can see, I have both Mizu and Mishimoto and i will not talk bad about either because both are great products, but the Mizu is slightly larger and could hold more coolent and looks a little nicer......so the edge would have to go with Mizu Rad.

as far as the temps go, i never did a baseline test so couldnt tell you the number difference but my dash gauge is one click lower than normal at 100 degree weather and a/c running full blast while driving 85mph.........since i have the Mizu in the car and drove way over 500 miles, i have no complaints or problems with it!

+1 for Mizu. I've had my Rad for 2 years with over 30,000 miles of daily driving and about 5 track days, and I have had no issues whatsoever. I've been running cooler ever since 8).

Mizu does mean "water" in Japanese. But then so does "mishi" as in "Mishimoto".

But you can get it shipped direct from China for $266 :-/

That is odd how cheap they are when they are “shipped from Japan” to China to your home in the US….

Update: There was a ninja shipping price edit on the first link. But here it is on another page of that same place for $266 shipped.

I wouldn't recommend buying anything from that site. It looks pretty sketchy. Anyone can just post listings and send counterfeit products.Â* :idiot2:

You can get a better deal here from a US based seller and get an authentic Mizu Radiator. O0

Cool, so it could be counterfeit stuff. But if you were going to be in China and counterfeit stuff, wouldn't you counterfeit teh good stuff? Like a CBRD radiator... or a PWR radiator.

Assuming that that DHGate website is a place to get knockoff and grey market stuff. I respectfully submit that the whole reason they are able to get you both Mizu and Mishimoto radiators, is precicely because the Mizu and Mishimoto radiators are also made in China. You can google for days and not find a direct statement from Mizu on where their stuff is manufactured. When you dont say where it is made, it is made in mainland China.

There are a couple references to their stuff being made in Japan by a distributor (Monarch/sparkplugs.com) and on one online B2B reference they claim all their stuff is engineered and manufactured in HB Ca which is obviously not true. Mizu's address on their website comes up to a mailbox drop.

Mizu and Mishimoto make OK replacement radiators. I wouldnt use them on a race car (tried that). I am just relentlessly digging at the misrepresentation that they are anything but Chinese or S.E. Asian made. CSF will tell you that their stuff is made in Thailand. But making up a Japanese sounding name does not make your stuff made in Japan. Unless the Japanese weld quality has gone downhill big time.

Here are some CBRD radiator pics for comparison:

Hey Bro, you're right the address in HB is there mailing address, and if you scroll down on the contact us page you'll see the address to the warehouse. I've actually been there and had a tour of the facility when I went to pick up my rad, and it was pretty impressive. The guys who run it are really cool. I'm sure if you contact them directly they can answer any questions you have and show you around the facility too.

As far as I'm concerned and as someone who actually has this on their car Mizu is the good stuff. Especially for people who don't want to spend $600 on a product that performs exactly the same for less than 1/2 the price. Your claim that these radiators are Chinese is based on some scam website that's a rip off of EBay. I've seen these rads installed on high HP cars at various Time Attacks with no issues or failures whatsoever, and it kept me cool on all of my track days. So I can say with total confidence that's these Radiators can perform just as good as the radiators you recommend, and they come with a lifetime warranty just for the extra peace of mind.

OK, so we are going there... Mizu paid a rally team to put one on their X Games EVO. The radiator neck fell off on the RRE dyno. The neck is brazed on. Aluminum to aluminum brazed :-/ I can dig deeper at functionality issues if you want. I was just being charitable and not attacking specific quality points. I have two other "big hp time attack" EVOs that got a free Mizu that had overheating problems. One magazine editor's EVO X too. All had problems solved going back to stock. But you wont hear about it because they are staying quiet because they got the stuff for free and again are being charitable.

A HUGE cooling difference from Mizu is evident in this CBRD pic:

http://roadraceengineering.com/evox/parts/radiators/cbrd-04.jpg

I will directly contest misrepresentations here. We can keep going at this if you want. Or have your Mizu homies call me directly so we can address this off line. I think they would be better served doing this in private than through surrogates.

I don't know how much truth their is to the claims Mike is making, but I smell BS. I'm speaking from experience, and I have never had an issue with my Radiator which I have run several times @ SOW and Big Willow. I've also seen a turbo S2000 running a Mizu rad in the Redline Time Attack Modified class which won its class and had no overheating issues. This thread is comparing 2 radiators at a completely different price point than the radiators you keep comparing them to. If you like CBRD that's great. Go start a thread comparing them to PWR or another overpriced Radiator. I don't know who that last comment was directed to,but I have no "Mizu Homies" as you put it. I'm just giving my opinion from my own personal experience with the product, and I hate people who criticize others for not wanting to spend double the money for a part that accomplishes the same task.

And it also looks like I am giving my opinion on the parts too. What a beautiful country. My BS claims are made from personal experience also. I am in this thread because people were claiming that Mizu radiators are made in Japan. They are not. f not for the "Japanese made" claim I would have passed by this thread and thought "wow, Mizu still gives away free radiators if you write up a review with pics and post it on a couple 2-3 forums, cool marketing" and went on my browsing way. You can see the exact same Mizu reviews on other car forums and they also have the same trajectory as this thread.

Mizu and Mishimoto are both the same price and both pretend Japanese Japanese water based names and both made in China. They are both fine stock replacement parts. They, along with the other Chinese made heat exchangers (Blackworks, CX Racing, Godspeed etc.) have their place in life. I have recommended and sold Mishimoto, Mizu and CX parts to people and they were ecstatic (if not all giggity) over the performance and value for what they were doing with them. Real racing parts they are not.

CBRD and PWR are double the price, not made in China and don't have pretend Japanese names. I am happy you dont hate me for "criticizing others for not wanting to spend double the money for a part that accomplishes the same task" because the Chinese heat exchangers do not accomplish the same task as the PWR or CBRD caliber parts.

I got more if you got more.
