Clutch Help ??

I just bought evo VIII RS, and am new to this forum. My clutch does not engage until the very end of the release, meaning when my knee is closest to my chest. There is a minor slip, but it shifts smooth through all 5 gears. My question is can this be adjusted or does it sound like the clutch needs to be replaced?

You can do it yourself, just need a 8mm wrench and some long needle pliers. But any shops around there "should be able to do it". But like I said, DYI, takes about 5-10mins.

Awesome, I don't mind getting my hands dirty. Is there a reference video, or book online that I could refer to? You guys are great BTW.
