Hello fellow board members. I have a 2005 Evo 8 GSR. I recently had the Mitsu dealership (Puente Hills) install a brand new stock clutch and flywheel. Let me give a brief background of my car...I'd say it's fairly moddified w/ 379 WHP and 295lbs of torque. The major mods I have is the Buscher GT35R Turbo kit, Buddy club 272 (i/e) cams, turbo back w/ T-pipe, hks intake, 1000cc injector, JDM BOV, Greedy type 2 boost controller on a conservative tune (91 pump gas). I had an Exedy twin disk installed on my car until it crapped out on me due to the retainer ring breaking. Since I plan on selling the car, I opted for the dealer to install a brand new stock clutch and flywheel.
I got the car back a week ago and did the 500 miles break in period (Actually did 700 miles). I decided to test out the clutch, I never launch my car so everything is from a rolling start. Thru all my gears, when I get to 5k rpms my clucth slips. I took it back to the dealership and the mech and service manager told me that since I have a lot of HP which will make it slip. I told him that the clutch is based on torque not HP. He then corrected himself and said HP and Torque combined. I feel like they are giving me the run around, they said they will contact Mitsu Headquarters. My question is, will the brand new stock clutch hold the 295lbs torque that I have? Just want to get your guys opinion...Thank you.
