Evo X 2010 Stock Driver Side Tow Hook/Loop Removal

Hey everyone... My search for exactly how many bolts to remove have come up inconclusive. I'm trying to remove the Driver Side Rear Tow Hook/Loop.
So far I've removed 2 14 bolts that were pointing straight up. It looks like the Charcoal Canister is in the way - do I have to remove this or is there some way to remove the tow hook/loop without doing so? I'd much rather not mess with the Charcoal Canister as its part of the EVAP system...

It looks like 2 more bolts hold everything together .. weather they are 14mm or 17mm - I'm not sure- it just got dark and I'm going to try to attempt when I have more time.

Can someone provide pictures? Ideas? ANSWERS? :crazy2: TIA!

lalala bump for responses LOL ... I know that it needs to be removed for some exhausts (canisters) - so there has got to be more information out there!
I'm going to remove it; but will not grind it off!

old thread i know, but it's the only one on here that even mentions the tow hook remotely...i've taken off the two 14mm bolts you were talking about, then the two 19mm nuts are stuck like a motha! So if i get some advice, other than cutting the dam thing off, then i'll post up some info, other wise i've tried breaker bars with 1/2 inch drives, PB blaster, and crescent wrenches. I'm trying to avoid the torch but i think it might be the only way?

I removed it; never updated ... You have to MOVE the charcoal canister and loosen and remove the bolts from the OUTSIDE side of the car opposed from the inside side of the car .. hope that helps!

Thanks for replying! So when you say outside do you mean fr the back and not under the car or do I have to take the bumper off or something? Sorry for the newbness i just want to know what method you used and tools! Thanks!

When I mean outside; I mean the driver side of the tow hook; not from the passenger side of the tow hook.
There are bolts welded on the driver side of the tow hook that appear like you can remove them but you cant- they are 19mm and have to access them from the other side; and to do that you have to loosen up the Charcoal Canister - the black box that is blocking everything - just move it out of the way then you can do it!
Your attacking the right bolts- you just need to get to the Screws which are actually on the OTHER side! Good luck and let me know if you need more help - Maybe I can take pictures LOL

Tip: The silver bolts are 14mm
