Try a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS

CRX2EVO

or just the Conti DW

S = snow

well considering he's asking for ALL SEASON performance... he'd want the DWS. DW is a summer tire.

OP check out these tires lines:
Yokohama Advan S.4
Continental DWS
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+
BS Potenza RE970 Pole Position

One of them should fit what you need. You can go cheaper if you want though, cuz those are mostly all more expensive tire brands for the best performance an all season tire can give.

IF by chance you're just asking for 3 season performance (IE Spring, Summer, Fall) and just need them for rain, then just get a set of summer tires =P Then CRX2EVO's suggestion is right: DW may fit you better =P

you're thinking the YK520.. YK580's were just released a couple months ago and have a newer tread compound that is more durable and will last longer.

By the way, Sam.... I loved the OEM Yoko's on my X, switched to Evo 12 Ventus, pretty good for $180 less per. For under 2 large each, any suggestions for better grip (like the OEM), but with a treadwear of , say, 260-300???

You ask for very difficult things Rick!Â* The general rule of thumb with rubber is that the harder the rubber, the better treadwear mileage but worse the performance (ie grip).Â* The OEM tires have quite a soft compound to attain that grip level and response, which is also why they don't last as long.Â* The treadwear rating on the OEM tires are set at 180, so in order to compare tires, you really do need to compare tires of the same class (IE similar treadwear ratings).Â* So basically, you'll never find a tire in the 260-300 treadwear range thats under 200 dollars each AND has similar grip to our OEM tires unless a tire company knows some hocus pocus magic that defies physics.Â* (michelin might come up with that someday... who knows what those crazy french guys will come up with next)

I'll assume you still want suggestions.Â* For the 200-300 treadwear rating tires you can try these:

Yokohama S. Drive (great tire in the rain)
Bridgestone Potensa S-04 Pole Positions (performs quite well)
Hankook Ventus Evo 12 K110 (haven't really tried these out but Rick seems to like them haha)
Dunlop DZ101 (great daily tire)

Also remember, regular air pressure checks and tire rotations also are a big key factor in tire life.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

For the DD's out there, I CAN verify that the Evo12's can get great mileage on the treads- I have 35,000 miles on them and have 40% tread left. (As reported above, that is probably affected by my rotating them every 5K miles and maintaining the right air pressure).

DWS has a soft sidewall and isnt really a performanced based tire. go with goodyear eagle GTs

Major necro bump there, new guy. But an interesting one.

Those crazy French guys from Michelin... 300 treadwear and in the $235 ballpark now for Pilot Super Sports vs the S-04 PP now at $215. Just a few more years and the above statement may come true. And my friends think I am nuts for having such a thing for tires.

DWS has been the benchmark for high performance all season performance for awhile. Check out tire rack as i know they've tested them either last year or the year before.
