Anyone swapped out their steering wheel in their X and have pics? I have finally talked my self into doing something about the horrible wheel position, so unsafe. Could use some ideas and reviews.

I think i talked to you about this a few months ago - Missing blue tooth, cruise, radio buttons at all? how much further than stock does that come out? how much did you spend on everything? Thanks again man!!!

Yeah I never had bluetooth, I have an 08. I dont use cruise, I have other cars for that.... I cant judge distance cause I have stationary sparcos but its perfect. Just enough flex in the elbows, feels awesome. I think at the time I spent like 400... Im changing wheels though... matter of fact its shopping time...

let me know when you buy a new one - id be interested in your old set up to try out. im a giant when my legs are comfortable and i sit back in the seat the wheel will maybe reach the 3 joint where the fingers meet the hand. Id rather it reach close to my wrist.

Only thing I am changing is the wheel itself. If you wanna check it out,let me know and you can test fit your ass to my seat to wheel...

blkside - Is this your daily driver? If so, did your insurance go up since you don't have an airbag in the wheel? Are you getting any warning lights as a result of detaching the airbag? Thanks.

Dlo - yes its my DD or one of my DDs... No you dont tell the police if you run a stop sign so why would I tell my insurance company. I dont get any lights.. they have been spooked ....

^ I hear you bro and I love the setup! I want the same setup once my X pulls track only duties.

The only reason I mention this is because insurance companies always look for ways to deny coverage. Should you get into an accident where the steering wheel airbag deployment is critical to your health and you seek coverage from your insurance company, they may have the ability to deny you since your coverage is contingent upon your vehicle's safety equipment from the factory. Maybe it is worth calling and inquiring with your insurance company? Who knows maybe they won't even care in which you should report the change in your safety equipment configuration. If they do care, then you are at least aware.

I highly doubt the airbag is better than my full harnesses and cage... Maybe his pretty show setup will kill you but I run DOT legal harnesses and besides who doesnt wanna be buried with a sparco logo imbedded in his head...
