i had oil temp issue last saturday... i guess its time to upgrade oil cooler.
just wondering replace stock one to bigger one ( like setrab ) would be ok, or will i need extra secondary cooler ?

my oil temp went up to 280F ( max value of oil temp gauge )... i didn't notice oil temp until i saw SES light blinking.. ( yeah... engine knocking.. **** ).

i got 260F easy in afternoon, and just not rev more then 5000rpm later.... but i just ran 3 laps...

btw my point is im gonna install sst cooler also, so if i install extra coolers on front ( like SSP guys did ), is there any water temp issue ? ( i guess both extra coolers on front side will block top of radiator ), is there any better idea to install secondary oil cooler than front side ?

I saw techno square did V mount ( L mount ? ) on oil cooler, but i really don't wanna have hole on undertray. ( i guess it would be not good for air flow.... )

thanks.

You are talking about the SST oil temps on an X MR.

Yes we build and install upgraded SST coolers. We put in a larger cooler on the side where the stock cooler was. We also install a second cooler up in the grille area. For the two coolers, hoses, fittings, brackets, additional fluid labor and everything it works out to $700 installed. There is a bunch of expensive stuff out there that does not work. Ours just works and usually works out to be cheaper installed.

SSP I think has one.

i know they have solution, but i concern extra motor oil cooler and tranny cooler will block hole front area which radiator will get air directly.

so is it ok to block front with coolers to run track in california summer?

A larger engine oil cooler in the stock location will work fine. Take out your fog lights too. EIther just take them out and leave the hole or buy one of the grille panel sets that make it all cute.

It is about $500 installed for a larger oil cooler installed in the side there with some additional ducting.

since i changed front bumper, i didn't have fog light when i run on track....

how much it would be if i want bigger cooler and extra cooler for motor oil ?

i just wanna calculate how much difference will be.. ( if bigger cooler won't work, i might spend more.. on later... )

We wouldn't use two engine oil coolers. Just one larger one in the stock location.
