Well i just bought some RED LINE HEAVY SHOCKPROOF for my transfer case and was wondering if you guys recommend it? Its going into a stock TC with 93k miles on the car. I keep reading mix reviews on other sites and was wondering what you guys think. Car is a daily with sprint driving here and there. If anything i'll return it and use Diaqueen that a friend will give me. Thanks

Here's what I use:

1. Tranny = Redline MT85
2. Transfer CaseÂ* = Redline Heavy Weight Shock Proof Gear Oil
3. Rear Differential = Redline 75W90 Gear Oil

Edit:Â* Â*Used RRE's MT-85 last change

Transfercases on the EVO 8/9 here get Redline Shockproof. On the EVO X the breather vent passageways seem to get more confused with the thicker Shockproof and it can burp out the pink fluid ocasionally. This causes all kinds of panic with EVO X owners. Plus we see more EVO Xs that need transfer case warranties so the pink color could be an issue. So we use Redline 75/90 gear oil on the EVO X. If is was my own EVO X I'd use Shockproof in the transfercase for the better protection.

On the rear differential we use the Redline 75/90 since it has the correct additive for the clutch type differential.

In the EVO transmission, BG is a bit thin for the higher torque that the EVOs can lay down. It shifts great, so does Redline MTL which was also a little thin for big torque protection. Redline MT-90 gives great protection but could be a bit baulky at time for cold shifting. So peoples would mix MTL and MT-90 and this is what Redline recommended for the EVO transmission. So with all the hassle and drama with mixing stuff for the EVO Transmission, Redline pretty much made Redline MT-85 specifically for the EVO transmission. You get the best of shifting and protection.

Funny how you can report a whole series of posts from a new user SEO sig spammer to the "moderators" here on So Cal EVO and absolutely nothing happens. The "report to moderator" button sends a link to all the mods and Rob and Dino too. Makes me think that they get a cut form these guy. Most of the new members are total fakes.

What they charge me each month to be here and answer tech questions is supposed to be a moderated forum. But they are going to fix that with the upgrade this month!
