Well recently i changed my fluid in my transmisson with redline product and saw metal shavings on a my drain bolt. I don't know what is considered to much shavings to be abnormal.Â* Also i have a whine in first gear only starting around 2k rpm and up and slowly disappears. I haven't change my transfer case fluid yet or differential, but probably will this week. I have read other post that first gear whine is normal on evo's so just trying to get more info from everyone. I do have a ACT clutch that does makes noises at idle with the clutch pedal out and goes away when pedal is pushed in, and the famous coffee grinder noise on decel people talk about. Any info anyone has will be appreciated. thank you

Some people have said its normal with after market clutch and some say it's not :/ do you have a aftermarket clutch?

Hmmm not sure on stock clutch. Have you tried taking it to a shop to get it checked out?

is normal on a twin plate, not normal on a single disk clutch, the other noise should be the tob, is not normal either.

I've ask around and it seems a lot people have a first gear whine. If I were to fix this it would be a hard job? And can it be done when doing a clutch? Thank you

Will switching my fluid to Amsoil help reduce some noise?
